@everylastbird It was really, unexpectedly good! Idk if you’ve seen it yet so I’ll try not to give away any spoilers, but it felt very much like Disney took on board some of the criticisms of Frozen 1, as well as Moana’s success. It wasn’t perfect—ymmv but I bet there are going to be some “great white savior” criticisms, Anna’s relationship with Kristoff continues to feel a little forced to me, and Kristoff has a song that is, uh, a choice—but the story was GREAT, the visuals were stunning (I don’t even like 3d animation that much!), and it felt grounded in folklore/mythology in a way I really really enjoyed (there was a kelpie!). It was not at all the movie that I had anticipated, and while I’m still trying to decide how I feel about the ending on the whole that’s a very good thing.
