Zombie AU with moblit-bahner
Hanji Zoe was a Disease Control Researcher, along with her trusty assistant, Moblit Bahner. The zombies were interesting creatures; started off as human, of course, but once bitten by a zombie, the human would become 'infected', and turn into one. Depending on how many people the zombies had infected, they grew taller, some even reaching eight to ten feet - they were rather impressive...but their smell was dreadful, due to their bodies decomposing.
A barrier had been put up around a fairly large town - and for the most part, it worked. Food was becoming short in supply, and it was hard to keep the people whom had survived calm, but they managed it.
There were two types of military; the ones who fought the zombies, and the ones who didn't. The Three Dimensional Manoeuvre Gear helped with the larger zombies, and gave the agility that one needed to get past the faster ones. Some zombies were slow, dull and easy to take down - they only hunted for flesh to bite and infect, as that was their only purpose. But it wasn't uncommon that a faster, deadlier one came along, and they were harder to take down.
Currently, Hanji was standing at the top of the barrier, which was tall enough that it would be safe to stand upon, being around fifteen foot. She didn't remember exactly how it came to be, but it must've included a lot of team-work, since even the ten foot zombies couldn't get past it. As she looked down, she tapped her chin thoughtfully, wondering how exactly they were going to get everyone through this alive.
Surely, this would be no easy task. It was hard enough to keep everyone calm, but food shortages were taking a toll on everyone, and finding clean water was very hard - what would become of them if they ran out? They'd have to venture out sooner or later, because if they just stayed hidden behind the barriers in town, they were going to die for no reason, and the zombies would have won.
A long sigh escaped the woman's lips, and she watched as a few smaller zombies ambled along, watching the way they moved.
"If only we could find a way to take them all out without too many losses on our side.." Hanji muttered, putting a hand to her forehead.
