MoCCA Fest 2015, NYC. New location, West 22nd, 3 floors of comics. Tabled with Copra Rounds publisher Bergen Street Comics Press.
Haul: Light load but I love what I got (pictured).
Social: steady flow of readers, fans, peers. Deep cuts and dirt slinging with Alec Berry, white noise and going digital with Brendan Leach. Finally met Andrew Drilon and Frank Barbiere. Told JOG about my first Golgo 13 comic (purchased a few weeks ago on my RIPExpo trip); he's taken care of me. Had a brief intellectual discourse about Byrne inking with Leon Avelino until he ripped up some Copra comics and laughed in my face. That's fair.
Sales: Sold out of Round Two (we'll get more soon, promise!) so we offered a signed & numbered limited print in its stead (pictured). We have some of those prints left so pick one up if you're at the Bergen Street comic store. I should mention that everybody loved Kat Roberts’ Zodiac Zines… Scorpio’s coming ASAP!
Miscellaneous: Buy Derek Marks comics. Also, Annie Koyama continues to rock. Buy her books, too.
All in all: fun, busy show. I was getting used to the idea of coming back to this swell location until I heard a rumor minutes before packing up that the building's due for a demolition. Fact or fiction? MoCCA!
