Thank you so much to everyone who came by my table this weekend at MoCCA Fest 2022! Thank you to @soi128 and volunteers for putting on the show, judges @calreidny @derf_backderf and @lsberke for awarding “Little Brothers #666: Andy Goes to Hell” a MoCCA Award of Excellence (???!!!!) and most of all thank you to my @montclairstateu @msuartanddesign students of the past 3 years in my Products & Publications class for making me proud at their own tables next to mine that I did my best to prepare them for. I started teaching the class in Fall 2019 and after the first 2 classes didn’t get MoCCA Fests to sell their work at because of the global pandemic, it was really cathartic for me to see students from 3 years of classes finally get a chance to see people enjoy their work and sell it to people in real life face to face at a comics fest for the first time. My first comics fest was MoCCA fest in 2010, I went there with cool risd illustration seniors and juniors, with my first self published comic and I sold 0 copies! Only up from there, and now all my students did way better than I did my first time!
