Hi! I was wondering why ru stopped being tucked in and leaving it on top of the qun became the norm. Thanks!

Don’t know WHY why per se but as far as I know they stopped tucking it in around the late Song and throughout the Ming Dynasties.

There was a bit of a trend during the Song Dynasty where ladies would wear the Duanshan shirts not tucked in and I’m just assuming it picked up from there. (#2)

Here’s Early Ming (you can see the trend from the top reference ^ of crossed and untucked carried on into here)

Then I think for the remainder of the Ming the fabrics and preferred silhouettes started leaning towards what I like to call the “oversized triangle” aesthetic lol.

Of course I’m just speculatively guessing yk, this is just what I assume happened? I’m sure ziseviolet can jump in with the real facts 😂

Nonnie! This took really long but here’s a small process gif from the recent Venti I drew 💗

My process goes like this:

sketch/rough sketch > lineart > solid color (acts as my underpaint too) > color everything in one layer > details > background

I’m still trying to find a solid technique but I try to block everything out and take note of colors like if the base color is a warm color I use cooler shadows.

Colors are my strong suit so I take inspo from colors I like (like pink and find art or things related to it) or from movie stills 💗

I just found ur art & have been consuming it all day & i can't put into words how happy it has made me, how calm & inspired i feel. thank u so much for sharing it! i've been saving up to finally decorate my room & the colour scheme & general coziness in your art has given me so many ideas! I saw a pic of ur own room on twitter & is that wooden stick/rope that has ur hanging plants on a DIY project? My room is v small so would be perfect but not sure what to look for to find something like it

Hi!! Ahhh it makes me so happy my art is able to give you some inspiration!! Yes the bamboo stick as a plant hanger was a DIY, I originally bought them in a garden center for my tomato plants. Since summer was over and the tomato plants wilted, I used the sticks for this new purpose lmao

Simply get some sturdy long sticks, put them across the top of a wardrobe/bookshelf. I use a box with heavy stuff in it to weigh one side down while the other half hangs over the shelf. And then I just hung up different kinds of plants and dried bouquets etc ^^🌿

nonnie you flatter me! Hahaha I paint over screenshots I took from the game.

I’m not too skilled to redraw the style so I use the charas I have as my base (I use barbara and childe’s models since they’re the closest I have to my ocs in terms of build/fashion) and paint over them using the models as a guide
