Drummer wooseok, mochie want to know what your opinions of the oc where when you first met her during your first year compared to now???
Wooseok sits on the floor in front of the couch in his dorm’s living room, bouncing his legs and absentmindedly picking at a rip in his jeans - the fashionable type of rip, not the accidental kind. “She and I had some classes together last year, but we didn’t really ever talk. Like sometimes we’d do the whole ‘small talk thing’ before class, but honestly I only think that happened because I just like to talk a lot. So I kind of forced her to talk to me because I didn’t want to be quiet.” He laughs at his admission.
“Right off the bat she seemed like a smart chick, and she was hot and everything. But like I said, we didn’t really know each other. We definitely started moving beyond being acquaintances just in this last month or so, since she started tutoring me. I was right - she’s definitely a smart chick.”
He cracks his knuckles and stretches his wrists, restless as he thinks about her. “The thing is, I still don’t know too much about her. Usually when we’re together, we’re just talking about music stuff. It’d be cool to hang out more, maybe. If she’s not completely pissed at me after last night…”
Wooseok still doesn’t totally understand why she took off the way she did last night. He figures she was probably embarrassed, but she didn’t say anything when she left. The biggest fear he has is that he took it too far, that they were too drunk to be doing stupid shit like that, and now she might feel weird around him.
Possibly the most confusing part of it all is that she left her underwear on the kitchen floor. Did she just forget? Did she do it on purpose? He doesn’t know.
Should he give it back? She’d think it was weird if he kept it, right?
He checks his phone once again to find that she still hasn’t texted. To be fair, he hasn’t texted her either - he thought he should give her some space. But he’s still anxious to hear from her.
Wooseok won’t even get to see her at R&B Ensemble tomorrow… this is the last week of his suspension. That means the next time he sees her will be for their one-on-one tutoring, assuming that she doesn’t bail or anything. Which she might.
He’s not even concerned with trying to do anything with her, whether it’s a sex thing or a relationship thing. He was just having fun and maybe got a little out of control. All that matters is that she’s alright with what happened between them.
“Ugh.” He tosses his phone onto the couch cushion behind him and stands, heading for the door. “I need to take a walk. Clear my head.”
Hello, it’s me. The one and only mochie nonnie. These are the photos I meant, you don’t have to use any I just wanted to show you cause this boy holds my heart
im too soft for this why are you doing this to me??
So I just watched wayV’s dance practise and all I can say is who’s Jaehyun cause Kun really came for my life. He is an amazing dance, visual and singer and now I think I need help cause I’m an unloyal bish who doesn’t know how to bias anymore - mochie nonnie
Do you know of any good pentagon scenarios or series that you can recommend????? I’d preferably like to read ones for shinwon, changgu or hyunggu but I’m also fine with the other members. I’m craving some good fics after reading hot for you man!!!!!!!! - mochie nonnie
okay so unfortunately i haven’t read too many pentagon fics (i’m so bad) lol BUT. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A LITTLE SOMETHING CALLED SEXUAL LIBERATION.
my buddy ol’ pal @kweebtrash has written some of the hottest smut i’ve ever read for their Sexual Liberation series and i HIGHLY recommend it to literally everyone.
hyunggu is very heavily featured (as well as hyojong, hwitaek, and hongseok), but unfortunately shinwon and changgu don’t make much of an appearance (why is it so hard to find shinwon & changgu fics??)
the series is only one part away from being completed, but don’t let that stop you from checking out what has already been written! it’s seriously gold.
in the mean time, i’ll have to start reading more pentagon fics, and maybe i’ll start a ptg fic rec post or something. 😊
I also want to give some advice to your 🐨 nonnie. You shouldn’t care about what people think of a certain writing idea. You will always have the same amount of people who don’t like something as those who do. So remember, always publish something you’re happy with cause if you’re happy with something you wrote, most likely your readers will too. I also always find that you yourself are your biggest critic, so have some confidence in what you write no matter what others opinions of it are - 🍡
I’m sorry for not reply for a whole ass century, I promise I wasn’t trying to neglect you, I just haven’t been very active. I think at this point, I’m going to take a step away from smut because 1. I’m not confident in writing about it and 2. I don’t have much experience in the sexual department which practically fuels my inconfidence. I also read through all your advice and I’ve taken it onboard, trying to implement it into a new series I’m currently working on - mochie
The things I’m currently trying to work on is making sure that my sentences flow completely; replace, reword or simply cut out any words/sentences that disrupt this flow. You also pointed out something that I’ve also noticed; that I tend to use the same words when I can’t think of something similar. I usually fix this up when I do a read through though. I also like how you explained how you would personally rewrite what I’ve already written because I’m a visual learner
It gives a clear example for what aspects you think I need to work on. It may only be from your perspective but even one person can help me realise what is missing and it will help me improve that little bit more. Your writing style is also my aim, it is kinda what I wish to achieve. I’m always told that I’m good a detailed writing but I feel that I over detail my work, but you pointed out how to fix it. I also liked how you said that I set the scene without outright saying it
I like how you give enough detail to help paint a clear image of what is being read. With my series, I’m having a bit of trouble thinking up a plot between my main plot. I kinda just doing a bullet point plot line chapter for chapter but I’n starting to loose inspiration for what the major plot should be for said chapter. Does this make sense and if you have any tips to help me with this or just more writing tips in general, then please share them with me… I’m desperate!!!
lol GUESS WHO ALSO HASN’T REPLIED IN A WHOLE ASS CENTURY. my bad, i’ve been super busy. BUT HERE I AM.
smut is definitely a very challenging genre to write, and it’s totally okay to step away from it. it can be very difficult, especially if you don’t feel confident. of course, if it’s something you would still be interested in writing in the future, you can always try writing some just for yourself without the intention of posting. i think sometimes (at least for me) that gives you a little room to breathe. you don’t have to worry so much about how good it may or may not be, because no one’s going to see it anyway. and it’ll still give you practice! but don’t ever worry about forcing yourself into a genre you’re not comfortable with. i promise you can still be a successful writer without writing explicit smut scenes.
i’m really glad that my feedback helped! it sounds like you’ve got a good focus of what you want to work on.
honestly… plots are hard. lol. in its simplest form, your plot should have three things: a main character, a source of conflict, and a resolution of some sort. once you have those three things nailed down, you have to come up with steps for the main character to overcome the conflict (or succumb). that’s where the creativity comes in, and you have to figure out how to put yourself into the main character’s shoes. put them into positions where they have to make decisions about what to do next.
deciding the plot can take a lot of time, and you’re definitely doing the right thing by outlining with bullet points. that’s super helpful for me, and i do it with basically everything i write. just be willing to take your time with it, and step away from it if you’re feeling uninspired. read some things that make you feel inspired, or watch some movies/tv shows with really impactful stories. be patient with yourself and take breaks when you need to. that’s probably the majority of the reason why i’m so slow to update lol because i frequently have to take mental breaks away from the story just to come back to it with a refreshed point of view.
hopefully this is at least a little helpful? there’s no real answer or key to finding motivation to write. but probably the biggest lesson i’ve learned is to be patient with the process. forcing yourself through it will do you no good. so just take it easy and be kind to yourself!
Just a bit of a background to my writing before I send you that smut related thing, I’ve only ever written fluff and angst. I’ve never dipped my foot into the big ass ocean that is smut before so I hope that it’s okay and I want you to give me you truthful and honest opinion. Please don’t say something nice just to be nice or beat around the bush with it please - mochie
oh my gosh, no problem! we all have to start somewhere. i’ll give you my very honest, constructive feedback below!
This is part 1: the handcuffs that are wrapped around hyunggu’s wrists rattle against the headboard from the ticklish feeling your soft fingers produce as they running down the crevice of his chest in a slow and gentle teasing manner. You lightly trace your fingertips along the snail trail from his belly button to the base of his pubic bone, watching his skin grows alight with goosebumps. His breath hitches only to be followed by a whispered whimper at you light touch.
the first thing i notice is that the first sentence is pretty long. that’s usually something i look for when i’m revising my own writing. it’s important to write with a flow, following the cadence a person would use when they speak. you can find places to use punctuation to break up the sentence into shorter phrases and make the whole thing easier to consume. i also typically try to find excess words that can be cut out.
for example, i might rewrite the first sentence as this:
The handcuffs wrapped around Hyunggu’s wrists rattle against the headboard as he squirms under your ticklish touch. The soft tips of your fingers run gently down the crevice of his chest, slow and teasing.
so basically i just cut out a few words that aren’t necessary to the sentence and added in a few that helped to clarify. i also turned it into two sentences to make it easier to read. (of course, this isn’t the ‘correct’ way to re-write what you’ve written, it’s just my personal take!)
i like the second sentence you wrote! the only thing i’d consider changing is choosing a different word instead of ‘fingertips,’ since you just used ‘fingers’ in the previous sentence. maybe nails? or knuckle? think about what other specific parts of the hand can be used for touching just to add a little extra flavor. you could also omit ‘fingertips’ completely and just say “You lightly trace the snail trail…” also, when you say ‘snail trail,’ do you mean ‘happy trail?’ i’ve never heard it called a snail trail before lol.
for the third sentence, just a few grammatical touches!
His breath hitches, only to be followed by a whispered whimper at your light touch.
i just added a comma and changed ‘you’ to ‘your’ 😊
overall, this first part is really solid content! you do a great job of setting the scene right away. you don’t explicitly say what position they’re in, but you don’t need to. it’s obvious by the mention of the handcuffs that she is the one in control and is likely hovering over him. the reader can very easily fill in the small details. and i think you understand the importance of sensory words.
And part 2: You wrap you fingers around the waist band of his boxers, watching his penis slowly bounce against his stomach once it’s released from its confining space. You watch with a satisfied smile at the way his eyes close in anticipation and at how he draws his bottom lip between his teeth. Silently observing how he bites down due to the sensation your fingers produce when you lightly trace along the length of his shaft from the base and gently pressing down once you reach the tip - mochie
this is good too, but i think some different word choices might help spice it up a bit! maybe say “You hook your fingers into the waistband of his boxers.” also, penises don’t slowly bounce, they freakin spring right up lmao (well depending on how erect it is, i suppose. the more solid it is, the more it’s going to slap down onto his stomach).
you can also really easily simplify the second sentence to keep it clear:
You watch with a satisfied smile as his eyes close in anticipation and his bottom lip draws between his teeth.
The third sentence is actually a long fragment, so let’s take a look at that. You left out the subject (which is an implied ‘you’ for this portion). So this sentence is about ‘you’ observing him as you touch him.
one thing to think about is whether or not there is a more interesting subject. for instance, you could try writing it where the subject is ‘your touch’ instead of just ‘you.’ so then it would become something like:
Your fingers lightly trace along the length of his shaft, causing him to bite down.
that’s pretty basic, so let’s spice it up a bit:
Your fingers feather along the length of his shaft from base to tip and gently press into the head, causing him to bite down on his plush lower lip.
that might be a little too wordy, so it could use some more work. lol and again, these are just examples of ideas i have. overall i think you’re off to a really good start, especially since you don’t have experience writing smut yet!
i hope this is at least a little helpful? i know i have the tendency to just provide examples instead of actually thoroughly explaining things. let me know if you have any other questions about this or about writing in general, and i’d be happy to help if i can!
also i hope this comes across as positive constructive feedback, not condescending. you know how difficult it is to convey tone. i swear i’m trying to be as helpful as possible! 😊
I’m glad that you’re not upset at me, it’s like a very heavy weight just got lifted off my shoulders. Also I agree, even if people disagree with me, sometimes I don’t know if they’re just disagreeing but happy or disagreeing and pissed off at me cause I’m not talking face to face so I don’t know their tone of speech!!!!!!! - mochie
of course, i totally understand! i’m glad you’re feeling better. also, sorry i’ve held onto this ask for so long lol it kind of got lost among all of the ‘ask my muses’ asks.
I love giving prediction & receiving predictions for my own work, it gives you an idea to how someone thinks. I’m also a curious bird who says I love fluff but let’s be real, I live for the angst in things. I have a cold ass heart with no feelings to spare. Can you also give me some writing tips. I’m not sure if you’ve done any study towards it or anything but I kinda taught myself & I’d love some advice cause you’re an amazing writer, even your characters have a nice depth to them - mochie
yeah, i like knowing what my readers think because it may also end up influencing the way the story is going (it can also make it easier to find twists to add when i have a clear idea of what the readers are thinking)
YES i’ve been such a sucker for angst recently and idk why?? lol that just kind of came out of nowhere, and here we are.
as for writing tips, i’m also self-taught. my biggest tip is to analyze other peoples’ stories - whether it’s a fic, a book, a movie, a tv show. find a story that you like, and try to figure out what you like about it. take notes about what is effective story telling and what is kind of lacking or overdone. the more awareness you build about other stories, the more you’ll be aware of your own storytelling abilities.
another tip i have is to think about your characters literally all the time. lol. let yourself be completely consumed by the world you’re creating. the more you let your mind live in that space, the more you’ll start to develop deeper ideas about plot and characters. always keep a notebook handy (or phone if you prefer digital notes) so you can jot down things as they come to mind.
thank you for asking me for writing advice - it really makes me feel like a pro 😊
