About a month before Christmas Isabelle Lightwood was already running around in a mad panic. Why oh why did I agree to have Christmas at mine this year she was cursing herself. Simon had told her not to worry and that he would help which she couldn’t deny was sweet but she wouldn’t accept help from anyone until Clary forced her to stop. Clary had written a plan up to try to calm her down and although it was helping, there was no mention of presents in said plan and that made Izzy’s life a nightmare.

As it got closer to Christmas Izzy managed to get presents for everyone slowly but surely, she bought Magnus new underwear to wander around in and more glitter eyeshadows, he could never have enough. For her brothers she got new jumpers and shirts, Alec and Jace would be happy with that or she’d make them be happy. Clary had been the easiest to buy for (except for Magnus); new art supplies, there was no doubt she would love them. Now the only person left to buy for was Simon. But what do you buy your boyfriend who didn’t technically celebrate Christmas? 

It was Christmas Eve and Simon still didn’t have a present. Izzy was so stressed; she called Clary hoping for inspiration but no got answer. After giving up, she decided to just go out and hope something would catch her eye. New York at Christmas was the most beautiful place in the world or so Isabelle thought. She wondered around for three hours before giving in. Izzy was ready to cry, how could she have organised such a perfect Christmas (with help from Clary) and not have something for Simon, she loved him more than anything and had no way of showing it. Suddenly it hit her, she could show Simon exactly how much she loved him and as if on cue Clary rang her “Hi Izzy sorry was really busy trying to move presents from their hiding places so Jace doesn’t open them early, what’s up?” “Clary how quickly can you get to Central Park?” “In about 10 minutes why?” “Just meet me there; I’ll explain when you get here”

Izzy got in that night absolutely exhausted and Simon as always was sitting waiting for her. She fell onto the sofa and snuggled up to him. “Where have you been all day?” Simon didn’t look or sound concerned but Izzy knew he was. “Ahh I was on super secret Santa business and trying to stop Jace from causing Clary to snap” “Fair enough, had fun?” “Yeah although I nearly killed him” “Well there’s a surprise, are you excited for tomorrow?” “I am, but” “But what? Everyone is going to love what you’ve done and got them don’t worry and anyway lets go to bed it’s nearly midnight, you won’t get presents if you’re awake” This is was when she knew he loved her, he didn’t have to say I love you specifically but she knew he meant it all the same “Okay but you’ll have to carry me”

Clary had insisted on everyone being there before Jace could open presents which drove him insane but it made Izzy feel at ease, she hadn’t given Simon his present yet and she felt sick thinking about it, what if it he hated it? She pushed the thoughts from her mind and everyone swapped presents when Alec and Magnus finally showed up “Sorry Iz, Magnus insisted on trying on everything he owns and then he settled on what he originally decided” “It’s okay, wait here I have one last present to get” She ran into her room to get Simon’s present that Clary put in there when everyone was busy.

“Simon, this is for you” She handed the book over to him, “For me?” “Yes you giant dork for you, I hope you like it” He opened the book with shaking hands, and looked at the pictures on the pages, it wasn’t until the last page he realised what she had gotten him. “Izzy you didn’t” “Do you like it?” “I love it, and I love you” He grabbed her and kissed her. A wave of relief washed over her. “What is it then?!” Jace demanded, Clary explained “Yesterday Izzy and I went all around New York and took photos of the exact spots where anything significant happened to them. There’s the institute, the entrance to the Seelie Court, we even snuck into Magnus’ to take a photo” “I wanted to show him how much I love him and I do Simon, I love you with all my heart and soul and everything I am, and this is only thing I could think of because these places strike up feelings that I never want to forget and now we’ve immortalised them in this book for you” Simon smiled and held Izzy’s hand while everyone finished opening presents. Izzy knew that everything was perfect and nothing could ruin this Christmas, then the fire alarm went.

Clean: What's an important lesson you learned in life and how did you learn it?

that you should never be the only one trying in the friendship. this year ive realized that in some of my friendships i was the one making all the effore; i was the one who started texts, i invited her places, etc etc. so i stopped. i figure that if someone wants to be in your life theyll make an effort. and for someone of my friendships it did, and now were even better friends. for my other ones.. it didnt. but i dont regret it because i put myself before others, and thats honestly one of the best things you can ever do. 

Wildest Dreams: What would you like to be remembered for? 

as a slammin singer. i would love to sing for others but thats a far away dream lol

Ruby red trilogy. I don't know if the trilogy has an english name. Anyway it's really really cute. It's fun and interesting. It's not so famous and it's a pity because it's perfect. I mean: time travels, Gideon De Villiers, nice main character, Gideon De Villiers, a lovely gargoyle, good plot, Gideon De Villiers, amazing characters, Gideon De Villiers. These books deserve a lot, really

Divergent! I love the trilogy, ya know. I wasn't sure to start it, but a friend recommended it to me. And– I love her for that because the trilogy is wonderful.

3. Tumblr (a book you’ve read before but haven’t raved much about):

uhm, Looking for Alaska I think. I love love love this book, but I haven't raved so much about it. Just one time with a friend. 

4. Myspace (a book you don’t plan on re-reading): 

I don't like to re-read books so...

There are some books I loved so much and I'd like to re-live the story, but idk something stops me and I don't re-read pretty much anything

Ruby red series has amazing covers. At least, the italian ones are beautiful

Mh, nothing. I'd prefer a tv series because movies aren't always that good. Maybe I'd like the Silber's movie.

The perks of being a wallflower characters. Or the Hunger Games characters. Cool characters, okay
