Lionsgate, please explain yourself.
Book Gale: "Katniss, he's still trying to keep you alive."
Movie Gale: "Everybody has a choice, Katniss. And I rather die than say what he just said!"
There are several reasons why I never really liked Gale, especially in the last book. However, I always thought LG is going to focus more on the love-triangle in Mockingjay, which basically meant making Gale look better and more appealing to Katniss. But with that sentence, they weren't really going in that direction. I now think that Lionsgate is more interested in making clear what is really behind the characters of Peeta and Gale. You know, Gale being more of a fighter, who is only interested in winning the war, while Peeta remains the one who thinks this kind of war is a mistake. With that being said, I really think that Lionsgate didn't turned this movie into Mockinggale! I mean, of course we'll see more of Gale than Peeta, but they're not forcing us and Katniss to fall in love with him!
In other words, we maybe don't have to be afraid that we don't get as much Joshifer interviews as before! :)
