w, n and i please!

W: do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?i prefer more general prompts. when i get something highly specific i end up feeling like i’m not doing the prompt justice. but if it’s something general, i can make it my own and take it in whatever direction the fic leads me rather than feeling bound to a prompt.

N: is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?normally i would say TYBH but I FINISHED THAT IN NOVEMBER! not sure if you all know that, it’s not like i’ve been posting about it constantly or being annoying or anything lol.

OTHERWISE there are tons of fics i want other people to write for me. usually i’m a sucker for fics that take on telling the story of what happens after a show is cancelled or a book ends or whatnot. it’s usually the thing i look for after finishing a new piece of media: are there fics that continued the story? i’m never quite ready for it to be over.

I: do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?do guilty pleasures really exist or do we just shame ourselves for getting pleasure out of things that we think other people would judge? but if we do i basically treat fanfic as a guilty pleasure and i get a shit ton of pleasure out of it so who cares!!

I’m finally home. We got back around 10 pm last night, and I’m exhausted. Yesterday was, hands down, one of the worst days of my life. The majority of the church service was in Ukrainian, which my mom’s cousin (who surprised us all by being there, it was wonderful) led as he’s a priest in the Ukrainian church, and it was horrifically sad. They rang the bells to signify the beginning and ending of the service, and I cried each time because the tone of the bell was so sad. Of course, my whole family is just sobbing the entire time. The best/worst was a picture that my aunt found of me and my grandmother. It was the first trip to her house that I remembered (I was about 5), and my mom took a polaroid of me baking with my grandmother, my hands in the dough, and me smiling at the camera while my grandmother is smiling at me like I hung the moon. I literally burst into tears, like sobbing streaming tears. So she’s going to send me the picture so I can have it forever.

so now, i’m not really in the Christmas mood. I still have some shopping left to do, and tons of wrapping. I have to figure out Christmas Eve dinner, as it’s at my house (which is a good thing...my mom is in no shape to make a whole dinner like that), and I have to figure out what we’re doing for Christmas breakfast. I’m going to have to do all the Christmas shopping today (fuck my life), and food shopping tomorrow. I’m still trying to decide between ham and a whole turkey since ham is cheaper but I make a mean turkey.

So, that’s my life. I just wanted to thank the people who reached out to me (you know who you are you amazing incredibly lovely people) and assured me that it would be okay. It was, in fact, okay. My grandmother may be gone but her body is no longer suffering.
