Just got another guitar yesterday with my second(?) stimulus check, this time a 7-string. I've been wanting this one for God knows how long, but it's super rare. The moment I saw one online, I knew in an instant that it was the one 7-string I wanted above all others.

I'm a big fan of extreme metal, but nearly all other 7-strings are too modern-looking and kinda ugly. I've always been fond of funky 1960s guitars, especially underrated brands. Gibson and Fender have made 7-strings now and then, but most are kind of awkward-looking, and this Danelectro is WAY more unique. A Gibson or a Fender would’ve been too ordinary. It's the most retro-looking 7-string guitar in existence! How could I resist?

I knew that the stimulus money gave me an opportunity that I wasn't likely to get anytime soon, so I searched almost every day for this thing for months. Ran into several scams and missed chances, but I finally got one! Wound up shipping it from Toronto. I would have to pick a really rare guitar, out of all 7-strings.

So why get it in the first place? The main reason I wanted it is because I wanted a guitar that I didn't need to downtune and then retune over and over. Tuning to B standard and back again is a pain. I've done many songs where I've used a pitch effect instead, but that doesn't sound entirely natural, and there's always a bit of disconnect while playing. But why a 7-string? Some will argue that you don't need one if all you want is low metal riffs- just tune lower. Thing is, I also kept wishing I had the high notes on the E string. I want to be able to chug and shred on the same guitar! And it also occured to me that I could tune the G to a F#, and I could play it like a baritone with an extra string on top.

And of course, I can play more than metal on it. I can play surf, shoegaze, emo, just about anything on it. Full chords sound great on it too.

Hi everyone, Mod 7 here!

I’m writing today to say that I will be stepping down as a mod from here on out. I have been here for many years, and in those years hearing your stories, struggles, and successes have made my own recovery much much much easier. 

I am finally free of my disorder (arfid), it took me a long time, and there were many ups and downs along the way, but I am finally here and living my best life!

I truly believe that everyone reading this can recover. It may take a day, it may take 10 years, but by holding on and always putting your best foot forward, you’ll reach the life that you deserve. You can all be free of your disorders, you’ll hit rocks and fall down sometimes, but you will get there in the end. 

Always hold on and give every day your best efforts, even if it’s not the best of your best. Any effort is good effort. 

It will be hard, it might take long, but you will recover!

Thank you ALL for everything you have given me and this blog. Your questions, stories, and submissions help so many people. I wouldn’t be able to tell you how many lives you touch, and I hope that I have helped just as many.

Whats komaeda love mail?

komaedalovemail is a tumblr arg blog created in 2015 that was “originally” (since its an arg this thing was most likely planned from the start so) a blog were a few mods would post “love mail” or motivation posts using komaeda nagito as a faceclaim. it started making weird posts at some point then went on hiatus for a while and began posting more weird things in the summer of 2016 i think. maybe before that. anyways after its return it was just all odd nonsensical posts with some kind of weird storyline (or storylines i guess) and a whole lot of komaedas. anyways its kinda over now maybe? probably.
