Hey, I found that help for lack of appetite post again via you after searching for a long time, and when I went to eat I ended up on a strategy that I didn't see on the list and idk I thought it might be useful to someone? I don't think I'm in the target group for this blog so feel free to delete this if you don't think I should be writing you. But I found that, for me, making up a story about why or what I'm eating might help distance myself from discomfort or add motivation to do it.(1/2)

Like "better drink up, wouldn't want to turn into a werewolf tonight and accidentally tear up my house" or "this isn't [food] it's [magical substance] that will make me stronger" Or just "yes this is food but a ruler needs to eat if they are to lead an army to victory against an invading power, better get to it so I can get back to the battle plans". Or, y'know. whatever suits your fancy. Having a special thing to eat from might help for immersion, my cup had big scales on it.

I'm seeking out a mental health professional, but I don't know where to start at all. What is the professional name of one? What constitutes a bad, or a good one? How much would it cost me? Does my insurance cover it? I'm clueless! (also, sorry if this is a lot for one ask!!)

Let’s answer each question one at a time.  Note, this info is all going to be US centric because that’s what I know best.

Where to start:  Start by making a list of symptoms that you want help for.  Take that list to your Primary Care Physician (PCP) and ask for their advice on getting mental health treatment.  Your PCP can then help you navigate the murky waters of insurance.  If you have parents still involved in your healthcare, this is the time to get them involved too.
