ace jewish problems:
"hmm i wanna listen to some hozier"
my Church offers no absolution
she says worship in the bedroom
"hmm i no longer wanna listen to some hozier"
hey this is a slightly random question but i am quite musically anhedonic and the other asexual person i know also experiences this so i was wondering if they're at all related, can i ask about your a/sexuality and emotional response to music or lack thereof?
please reblog, thank you!
happy new year to all our phenomenal ace followers!!
may 2015 be a year filled with pride in our identities and happiness in ourselves.
Hi guys! I'm the original mod, mod Carmel (my Hebrew name), and I felt like I should do a more comprehensive introduction. I can waffle a bit so I'm sorry if this is wordy!
I'm 16, and I'm a cisgender allo/demiromantic (unsure) girl. I realised I was asexual three months ago, although I identified as demisexual for three months before that (out of not really knowing what sexual attraction was).
I live in England so I'm on GMT, but I'm kind of a night owl, so you'll see a lot of me :)
I'm pretty religious, and also I have ok-ish text skills. My religious blog is here, if you want to know more about that side of me. My family are not very religious - I was raised Reform.
I can't have a fulfilling romantic or sexual relationship (even if I wanted one) as long as I remain committed to observant Judaism, which really has a big impact on how I experience my asexuality and the intersection of that with my religion - more about this under the cut because it's sort of a long story and not very relevant.
Hi! I'm asexual and Jewish and I recently wrote something about being asexual for the blog SOJOURN which is a southern Jewish gender and sexual diversity organization. I was wondering if you might be interested in linking it? Don't feel any pressure to, but if you're interested let me know. Thanks for creating such an amazing community space :)
that would be great, we’re always looking for material! after a cursory google, i can’t find it, so if you could send us a link that would be great! thank you again and kol hakavod on your piece!

Hey :) Following for the Jew half as I'm not ace, what kind of Jew are you, if you don't mind me asking [orthodox, secular, reform, traditional, Ashkenazi, Sephardi, etc]?
(i mean i do have a purely jewish blog, eishet-lapidot, if you are looking for a jewish blog)
I’m:
observant (modern orthodox would probably be closest to where I feel right now, if you want a denomination)
a feminist (this plays into my Judaism in so many ways)
Ashkenazi (Lithuanian and Russian descent on one side, yekke [German] on the other, but we’ve been in England for 5 generations)
a BT (= “ba’alat teshuva”; feminine form, denotes that my family aren’t observant, but I’m trying to be).
Slightly off-topic, but: I worry that this gives me a super one-sided view of ace Jewish things, so for this and other reasons, other mods are so welcome.
I feel like I’m not doing a fantastic job of representing Jewish diversity, being as I’m only one person…
