Hi! I haven't watched anime before Yuri on Ice. And I LOVED yoi. And too add up I love yaoi as well so do you have anything else to offer me as ?
The anime no 6 is a lovely mlm anime, it is post-apocalyptic drama with really great representation and a healthy relationship dynamic!! It can be seen on Crunchyroll! (And probably other free sites but I watch it on cr) It also has a manga, but I haven’t read that yet but mod elle has!! I’ll leave the rest of this ask open for elle to add onto as she got me into no. 6!
ok hi it’s elle i can’t remember much of what happened in no.6 but it was definitely really gay in an open way without their relationship being the main focus, similar to yuri on ice.
you don’t typically get such great representation for LGBT+ and POC in anime, not on a level like this. In your yaoi anime the main focus will be the couple’s relationship and most of the time they’ll say things like “but i’m a guy” or “should we be doing this” so the fact that yoi was your first anime means that most other anime with LGBT reps might let you down a bit with how they’re portrayed, I’m afraid.
I don’t watch that many yaoi anime anymore because it can be a bit upsetting to see gay people represented in that way. I think you should watch no.6 and then maybe do your own research and read reviews, possibly read manga? there’s more of a selection there too. I’ve heard of and have been planning to read Shimanami Tasogare which apparently has a wide range of LGBT+ rep and in good form.
There’s a lot of anime that have the cursed fan review of “homoerotic undertones” which you can find in literally any sports anime and many others if you want to throw yourself into the hell pit of shipping that will never become canon.
sorry for the lack of decent information but here’s an ask from a friend of mine that has some soft yaoi / bl shows with happy endings.
please have a lovely day sorry for replying late I’ve been putting this off
