Hi, I'd like to know how you be checking if applicants are not cis? I'm interested in the zine however I didn't mention on any of my social media that I identify as non binary and I'm not sure if that'll be a problem. Thank you for replying if you do!

Hi there! As we cannot force ourselves and do something akin to a “background check” we are solely going based on honor system. This is a zine meant for trans and non binary content creators, people who are cis should be able to respect that and not lie about their identity. 

We highly doubt something like that will happen because as a community we like to trust that others will allow us to create this zine for those who need it - it’s so important for us non-cis people to have something inspiring and to see recognition in our favorite media! 

On the application we will ask for your gender identity and we trust you will be honest when answering it. If someone were to try and apply and create a piece that is suppose to support trans and nb headcanons WHILE pretending to be non-cis, then they are certainly not an ally of the community. 

We hope that answers your question! Please let us know if there’s any more clarification you need on it!

Still going to support the zine, but honestly I’m like super disappointed because I know I would have made something amazing for this, and I know that I’m waaaayyyy better than one of your mods... I may still do a Disney bnha crossover piece and make it really beautiful and you guys will see it and wish that you’d picked me.

First I’d like to say it’s absolutely disheartening to receive such a passive aggressive message like this. There’s nothing wrong with being disappointed, it’s completely valid to feel like that considering the ideas you have and such, but trying to put us down and making us “regret” not choosing you is an attitude we’d probably wouldn’t want to work with regardless. If this is your true colors and you’d happily step over other people, then we very much would prefer not to work with you. Regardless, please do go on and make that Disney BNHA crossover piece! It’ll be gorgeous and we don’t ever want to stunt a person’s creativity but we definitely don’t wish that we’ve picked you now that we see this message.
