game description aged well (working on making the games public rn and stuff)
if your draft looks like "all good ACTS are frisk" and "all bad ACTS are chara" then please reconsider the 2-dimensionalness you treat *both* these characters
Hey there! Thank you for taking interest in the blog and sending in an ask, but there’s a little issue with it that concerns us. This is not the only ask to bring up this concern, which is why I decided to make a post addressing it in the hopes that it will clear the air. Through reading this, I believe that a little clarification of our position on this whole issue is in order, so here we go!
It’s important to note that many of our posts are interpretation of Undertale canon based on facts that are presented within it. There are various other interpretations already floating around that we’re aware of, including Frisk being a blank slate, Chara being an actual demon, and Flowey orchestrating the entirety of the game including the very end of true pacifist. We understand that for some individuals, there’s a strong attachment to these ideas, and you know what? That’s totally fine! You’re free to believe in any of these and disagree with ours. We aren’t Toby Fox, and we don’t claim to be (though, even if we were, we’d likely take the same stance that he does, that he likes the speculation and feels that the ambiguity is an intentional effect). We’re even open to changing our view on a particular topic if there’s strong enough evidence to support it. Much of our theories come from us debating among each other and finding new information together, in fact! In that way, we work as a team to pull a collective whole out of the game through the facts that point in a certain way.
We fully encourage you to compile your own lists, come up with your own theories, and attempt to substantiate them with evidence to back them up if you believe anything that we post is wrong! You may even change our minds, if you’re convincing enough.
However…
The way you will not change our minds is through sending us asks designed to stir up a reaction, which is what asks like this do. Asks like these are off-putting, rather than a convincing counterargument. It is a good thing that you feel passionately about the subject, as that will serve you well in building great posts and theories when you use that as a creative outlet for that passion! But please do remember that all of us behind this blog are just human beings simply trying to comprehend a video game that we also feel passionately about. We’re not making any of our posts as an attack on anyone, nor to take away from anyone else’s experiences with Undertale. We love the diversity of ideas within this fandom, and only wish to add to it the only way we know how!
You are more than welcome to challenge our ideas with questions, but please try to do so in a way that is courteous and takes in mind the fact that we all love this game and want to pay it the respect that it deserves.
