Executive Dysfunction Cleaning Tips

I discovered a great cleaning tip when I was living in the dorms, after I started doing this, my dorm was clean for 2 months straight. That's never happened in my life.

Put things away close to where you leave them out.

• In my dorm, I kept my bottom drawer open all the time and dumped my clothes in a pile there, instead of on my desk and chair.

• Now that I'm in an apartment I have two laundry baskets and rotate them (ironing doesn't bother me at all but I hate folding and hanging things up). My meds are on a shelf in the order that I take them

• Basically, if something takes more energy to put away than it does to take out find a new place for it.

I also find it easier to start cleaning by getting a trash bag out and throwing out whatever needs to be thrown out.

• This works because you can do a lot without switching tasks, and it makes the rest of what you have to do look a lot smaller.

• Because of adhd I'm pretty clutter blind so when I have to clean it's super overwhelming because I can't plan what to do first or distinguish between what needs to be put away and what needs to be thrown out.

• Once you've thrown out whatever needs to be thrown out it'll be less overwhelming to look at and you'll be able to plan what to do next easier. I really recommend planning how you clean in a way that minimizes how often you have to switch tasks. That's helped me a lot

Hi there, I’m mod Elliot!! My pronouns are cey/cem/ceir/ceirs/cemself, ae/aem/aeir/aeirs/aemself, or they/them if the previous two sets are too difficult. I regress to cope with everyday life, and my regression is completely nonsexual. I’m a minor, although I’m uncomfortable publicly sharing my exact age, and my regressed age can be anywhere from 1-6!

I’m personally not a member of any community, but I do use the terms little, little space, caregiver, daddy, etc. My boyfriend is my daddy/little, and my nb partner​ is my little. I’m a switch, along with also being a pet regressor to a kitten, puppy, and fawn!
