I dislike text doctor ships… like, a lot. Idk why but to me shipping always ends up woobifyimg the characters, and especially with jotaphobia, I don’t think it ever gets to go much beyond ‘sexy eldritch monster’ without thinking about the implications of the eldritch.

this is probably missing the point but i like to think i put thought into the way i ship ocs. ships are the most fun for me as an earnest exploration of characters. someone else could probably say more on this topic than i could and word it better but yeah

not to yuck someone's yum about woobifying ocs. i see the appeal of doing so and it's (usually) harmless

hi!! i have no ide what a text doctor or gimmick blog is! can i have a rundown? sorry i'm pulling an all nighter and i'm exhausted but i appear to have stumbled upon a corner of the site i didn't know existed and i'm really curious (: hope you're all having a lovely one!

Text Doctors are a collection of Tumblr-based RP blogs featuring plague doctors made out of keyboard symbols with their own unique lore, they're mostly variants of the first one to don the title, Doctor Screech

not every character fits this mold though, and it's kinda more... a suggestion than anything???

here's some suggestions and summaries:

@the-arcade-doctor: The Big Dog. Follows Jay as he runs an arcade he built to escape Screech, and the mascot of his arcade, JOTA. Although almost charming in it's misdemeanor at first, the place carries a deeply sinister undercurrent... ties into @the-text-doctor.

@electrocution-hazard: Follows Eros, a mechanic at the aforementioned arcade, as they navigate daily life while struggling to recover from past traumas and fears. A good blog if you like a little bit of introspection and psychological horror, but still want to keep things lighthearted. Ties into aforementioned.

@naturalist-doctor: Similar to aforementioned and run by the same person--follows Winston as he navigates his split personality, his relationships with his peers, and figures out the truths of his immortality. Goes hard on the dark academia gothic horror vibe.

@the-text-mechanic: A newer blog: follows Tin as he runs his repair shop and has polite conversation with the bizarre folks that pass through it.

@the-plagueddoctor: Follows Nikolai as he is infected with something that dubs itself Plague.

i guess that's fair. i like the visuals of the old ai art (the real muddy lookin weird stuff) but i wouldn't like go out of my way to like pay money for it or generate it
