On tumblr there is a very hypocritical approach to social justice. As a catholic fandom blogger I do not enjoy it. Not only should you support trans people but also cis, not just gay but also straight, etc. If you are for people you should be for ALL people. I feel attacked by people who have sent me horrid anons about how a catholic doesn't belong on the fandom side of tumblr and how i'm solely responsible for homophobia prevailing on tumblr. Help! I feel really down and singled out.

PORRIM: Fando+ms are fo+r all peo+ple to+ enjo+y, and peo+ple fro+m all walks o+f life have the right to+ enjo+y whatever they want to+ enjo+y.
PORRIM: Ho+wever, in regards to+ the first part of yo+ur ask, while I agree that all peo+ple sho+uld be treated with respect and dignity, it’s no+t a bad thing to+ talk abo+ut specific issues that certain groups face, and it’s also+ NO+T a bad thing fo+r peo+ple to+ vent abo+ut their pro+blems, especially if they’re part o+f a systematically o+ppressed gro+up.
PORRIM: Unfortunately, what yo+u have to+ understand, is that this who+le “lo+ve and light” ideal do+esn’t translate to+ the real wo+rld very well. Peo+ple who+ are co+nstantly having o+thers step o+n their to+es will start beco+ming jaded to+ward tho+se who+ mo+st co+mmo+nly do+ the stepping. Especially when the peo+ple do+ing the stepping mo+re o+ften than no+t simply do+ no+t care that they are hurting so+meo+ne.
PORRIM: O+r wo+rse, think that they’re in the RIGHT fo+r it! And then when a large number o+f peo+ple fro+m the gro+up in po+wer refuse to+ ackno+wledge the issue, and instead talk abo+ut ho+w no+t ALL people fro+m X gro+up do+ the thing, it beco+mes harder to+ trust them. Because then they're igno+ring the issue to+o+ and pretending it do+esn't exist.
PORRIM: Please understand that the retaliatio+n and appearance o+f ho+stility co+mes no+t fro+m perso+nal hatred to+ward yo+u, but fro+m sweeps o+f built up pain and suffering. And that's really very sad and unfortunate.
PORRIM: But I digress, it's STILL no+t o+kay to+ send so+meo+ne ano+n hate, regardless o+f reaso+n o+r lack o+f reaso+n, ever. I'm so+, so+ so+rry that yo+u're getting such awful messages. That do+esn't make fo+r any go+o+d activism in the slightest, and they sho+uld be ashamed o+f themselves.
PORRIM: Just try to+ put yo+ur best fo+o+t fo+rward and do+ yo+ur best to+ be the best perso+n yo+u can be. That's all anyo+ne can really do+. Things will get better.
