Legendary journal entry number 1

Today I finally mustered up enough courage to leave the Valley of Triumph (not that I had no courage before this! I'm plenty brave!!!) and left for the golden wastelands!!! It was very exciting and very scary and I enjoyed finally being able to explore like I've always wanted to. The wastelands were gorgeous and the change of scenery was great. I completely avoided every single of those big not so scary krill things with ease. Totally. Okay maybe I didn't... I mostly narrowly avoided them.... but now I've come across this big door to a vault..... (after I met the really nice elder!) and I think I can hear someone talking to themself in there.... hope they're friendly!!

I just stood there outside her door in the rain that had started to fall moments ago. I turned around to walk back home to my apartment and the emotions hit me hard. I fell against the door and covered my mouth to muffle the sob that threatened to rip from my throat. I slid down her front door and my body started to shake. I had never cried so much in my life. My heart hurt very badly so I gripped my chest with my free hand. I clenched my teeth and moved my hand from my mouth to cover my eyes. I pulled my knees to my chest and just sobbed silently against my… well, I guess she would be my… my ex-girlfriend… just the thought made me sob harder, shaking against the door. I didn’t want her to see me like this so I used the door as leverage and slowly pulled myself to my feet. I still leaned against the door and wiped my eyes “you can’t let her see you cry…” I said to myself and pulled at my wet shirt for a second. When did the rain get worse? I turned and took one last look at the apartment before turning back to the street and walking home.
