Why do I have the feeling that Walter drew Barbara's comic book? He's the only one who actually knows what happened and can confirm that Rick wasn't the killer. Maybe he drew that comic to tell the story?

that’s an interesting theory! but i don’t think it’s one that holds up much with what’s in the game itself... remember how it said walter was under the bed the whole time and it never confirmed nor denied that rick was the killer:

they just said the blame was all put on him, and probably rightfully so; he was the only person outside of the family who knew of the key to open the basement:

which is where barbara’s ear was found. but that’s more around the theory of whether or not rick actually did it; i feel like he did.

but whether walter wrote the book or not, i don’t think so. the kid was traumatized by being a witness to the murder of his sister; so traumatized that he went into hiding for his entire life. i doubt he’d make a story out of it for commercial profit; if anything i feel like after the event he’d want to erase it from his memory forever rather than memorialize it.

if anything, the finches were notorious for being unlucky and different medias probably jumped on the opportunity to sensationalize a murder in their family; even horror comics that make exaggerated stories about the halloween murder of an outgrown child star.

BUT - i know it’s hard to write your entire theories in asks with character limits. lemme know if you think otherwise!!! and feel free to submit more headcanons and game theories either through ask or submit :)
