What exactly would writers write for a fashion zine?
This is answered briefly in our FAQ but writers will work on either a short story or a magazine article. Short stories are pretty standard, with the word limit being around 2k. Magazine articles will vary, but in the application form you will have to choose between these options:
Journal articles
Interviews
Fashion columns
Relationship columns
Horoscope readings
Fake ads
Quizzes
These will be collaborative with an artist and our graphic design mod. As long as you follow the theme of modern/urban fantasy AU, you’re free to come up with your own topic to write about! If it’s still confusing, the mods will be here to guide you through it during the creation period!
How is age going to help you to decide how to compensate people?
To compensate contributors, we will most likely be using PayPal or a service similar to that, and since you can only create an account with PayPal if you’re 18+, we would have to find an alternative method to transfer the money. It’s not a huge problem because minors will probably just provide us the info to their parent’s account, but it’s still nice to be aware of these situations in advance. That’s why the question is there on the application form.
It seems that some of you are worried about giving your age out online, and we understand this, so we would like to mention again that you’re free to simply write down whether you’re under or over 18yrs old. Also, only the mods will have access to the application responses and none of us will spread this information around.

Is everything already sold out or is it just an error??
Yeah, they sold really fast. If it’s marked as sold out, then there are no more since we had really limited quantities. :(
For zines, there is still the fair condition Call to Adventure and Seize the Sword bundles. Other than that, we still have merch!

I just got my copy!!! Everything is so high quality and beautiful AHHHHH thank you guys! Would yall consider ever making another atla zine, maybe on a specific theme or something? I'd love to see more from you guys (and maybe apply myself if contributor apps were open to new peeps owo)
Actually, we’ve been talking about a volume 2! Not much has been decided yet but if we do make another zine, it’ll be after our leftover sales and in the new year. We’ll definitely keep you guys updated on this once we have more details planned!
Hey, I was wondering how you contributed your artists and writers? Also, I know you’re not completely done with the zine, but what was your favorite part in making it. Also, just a comment, all the work in the book is amazing and I couldn’t be happier to have bought a zine.
If you’re asking how contributors get compensated, they receive a PDF of the zine, a physical bundle with all the items, and a portion of whatever profit is left over. We were fortunate enough to provide all these for free, including shipping!
It’s a bit harder to answer your second question because everyone likes different aspects of the zine process. Personally, I liked a little bit of everything from each stage: reading over the responses to our interest check in the beginning, meeting the other mods and contributors, seeing the progress of the artworks and stories, finally compiling all of it together, and hearing positive feedback from you guys.
But I think most people who took part of this zine will agree that there’s something special about being part of an anthology for a series we love. I’m glad that our passion for ATLA came across and we were able to make a great product for everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know that my Gaang bundle arrived and it’s like Christmas all over again (it arrived 2 days before Christmas but I sent it to my school dorm address and therefore haven’t seen it till now). I’ve been squealing over it all for the past ten minutes. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you to all the hardworking mods and contributors of the zine!!!
