A Little About Them - Hi! I’m Lucy and this is my second time modding an event like this or fourth if you count the two big bangs that haven’t started yet, why do I do so much and I can’t wait to get this show on the road! I’m in so many fandoms I’m slowly losing count, and like to spend my time drowning in hobbies or silently going into crisis mode because some fics are well over 80000 words, which is the average length for a novel, and I read through a countless amount every day and is this why I don’t like socialising anymore- oh, and I’m wordy. Evidently.

FAQ!

How do I sign up?

Sign up forms will open August 15th, you just have to fill out a quick form and you’re in!

What are the guidelines to giving/receiving gifts?

Guidelines are listed here!

What do I do if I forgot to add something to my sign up form?

We will be accepting edits to the sign up forms until sign ups close. Please try to put all information in your application before said date, but if something slips, contact the mods through our blog, email, or discord. 

Do I have to give a gift to receive a gift?

Yes, in order to get a gift you have to be able to give one.

How am I matched to someone?

You’re matched based on both your wishes and what you are willing to create. We do our best to match you to someone that will create at least one of your wishes and you are matched to someone for whom you are willing to make their wishes.

What if I need to drop out?

We’d really hope you can make the time to finish your gift, but if you can’t make it, that’s where the pinch hitters come in. If you know you can’t finish your work, please tell us as soon as possible so we can find someone to fill in for you.

What is a beta reader and why should I have one?

A beta reader is essentially a second pair of eyes. Your beta reader will read your fan fiction and comb out any simple mistakes, as well as discuss and give you advice to make your fan fiction the best version of itself it can be. We strongly recommend you have one. We aren’t strict - it can be one of your friends if you’d like! If you happened to get a friend as a giftee and need a separate beta reader, let us know. If you indicated on your sign-up sheet that you were willing to be a beta reader, you may be contacted to beta read someone’s fic during the creation period.

What is a pinch hitter?

Inevitably, some people won’t finish their work in time or drop out, and that’s where the pinch hitters come in. Pinch hitters are people who can cover for these people and make a gift last minute, to make sure no one ends up without a gift. If you indicated on your sign-up sheet that you were willing to be a pinch hitter, we may DM you and ask you to create a gift.

Can I be a pinch hitter without signing up for the event?

Absolutely! If you’d like to be a  pinch hitter but you aren’t able to commit to the event full time, just fill out the sign-up form accordingly.

What do I do if my giftee didn’t give enough information?

You can scroll through their blog to figure out what they like, send them an anonymous message, or ask us! If you can’t figure out what to give your giftee because of insufficient information, we can pass on any questions you may have and get back to you.

Am I guaranteed a gift?

While we make every possible effort to make sure that everyone gets a gift, we cannot control whether everyone is responsible enough to follow the rules, or whether there are enough pinch hitters to cover last-minute gifts. Please understand that the mods are unable to do anything about this, especially with an event this big. We hope people are able to enjoy the event even if not everyone receives a gift.

When publishing the gifts , we publish them on our blogs and @ the one who gets it?

so yes, when publishing gifts we ask that you publish them on your blog and @ the person you give it to and use out tracking tag (#atlasecretsanta) so we can reblog it! you can also dm them the gift just in case.

Can I just say thank you so much?? Like this just started but already it’s so great and I’m so excited!!! It’s so nice to actually be a part of a community of creators and be able to actually interact with them?? Like already everyone’s so nice and fun and supportive and the discussions are actually really funny and p interesting and the writers are already sharing how they all deal w writers block in different ways and it’s not a lot but it means so much to me so thank you all 💕💕💕
