happy tdov to everyone who can't be visibly trans, to everyone who is scared of being visibly trans, and to everyone who is visibly trans even if it puts them in danger. we're all in this together.
just a reminder that aside from one mod (on hiatus right now), nobody on the mod team is a trans man. if you assume only trans men would bother to care about transmasc issues, that's on you, but calling us men and saying 'only a man would say this' is straight up misgendering. i won't call out anyone specific here, but there was more than one reblog along these lines- it's not cool.
we have been doing our best to post about a variety of issues, affecting all of our community. the poll was an attempt to see who felt left out- evidently, we need to spend more time discussing transmisogyny and nonwestern identities. but if your reaction to a transunity movement is 'why are you talking about people who aren't me?' then you might be part of the reason we felt transunity was necessary in the first place.
hi! i'm rjd, one of the new mods! i use they/them pronouns. i'm here because i strongly believe we have to stand together, and i think transunity is going to help the wider community understand that.
