Hi everyone! Say hello to our nect mod, Roy! They are helping us run our socials and do administrative work.
Are there plans on doing this event again? I missed this event the first time around and would love if this was done again at some point.
Hi! I would love to run this event again, but I am unfortunately insanely busy for the foreseeable future, so any future running of this event wouldn't be until mid next year at the absolute earliest sadly.
I fully encourage everyone to keep writing fics in their own language, even without this event running!
Thank you everyone for signing up! Invitations to the Discord server will be sent out within the next 3 days to the tumblr accounts entered in the sign up form, if you haven't received one by March 1st, 2024, please send in an ask!
Oh, another question, are we allowed to bring in outside beta readers? Meaning people who aren't part of the event to beta pur writing? Because the second I mentioned this event to a fandom friend of mine and said I'd be writing in our native language, they said they'd be down to beta for me
for this event, bringing in your own outside beta is allowed, since we know not every language will be equally represented among the participating beta readers, we just ask that you let the mods know so we can make a note of it. and of course, your friend is always welcome to sign up for the event if they wish!
Heya, just signed up and have been tossing around some ideas for what to write and now I have to ask. Are crossovers in fandom allowed? Specifically, I've been thinking of crossing over hermitcraft with my home countries mcyt folks. Is that OK for the event? :D
Crossovers are absolutely allowed! as long as the main focus of the fic remains on any mcyt from any country, it can be written for this event!
in the sign-up form’s section regarding content we are not comfortable creating for, can we give a general dead dove? or must we be specific?
a general dead dove is fine! the event is already limited to maximum T rating on ao3, so hopefully that shouldn't be too much of a problem, and any specifics can be hashed out when it comes time for artists and betas to select what fics they'd be interested in working on!
im so sorry to ask this but i am unsure if i submitted the form already- if i submit another one just to be sure would it be too much of a hassle to maybe have two of the same forms?
You can submit again if you're uncertain! In this case, we'd just delete one of the submissions from the form if they're identical, and if there's any slight difference we'll stick with the more recent one!
One of the questions in the form is "Do you have an idea of the fic you will be writing? If so, what is it?" Does the answer to this influence anything? Is it better to wait and think of a specific idea before signing up or is it fine not to?
It doesn’t influence anything, and it isn’t necessary to submit the form! It’s mainly there to help us get an idea of what might be written for the event, but it’s not necessary at all!
