sometimes you don’t get memories for some kintypes (past life or not), but with the non-past life ones i have at least, it’s more of a pull than memories.

sometimes i see something like an item of clothing or a place that looks like one from canon and i go “huh, that looks like/reminds me of [insert other thing/scenario here]”. i will say that it’s harder for me to get memories for non-past life kins, so maybe i’m not the best person to be talking right now ;;
