Sarah happily glided along in the corridors, covered crate in her hands, nearing the entrance to Ravenclaw Common Room. It had always been quiet and peaceful there, the rest heading up to their dorms early. Not Sarah’s Katherine though. Katherine didn't stick her nose in a book or notebook all day, contrary to popular belief. She would always tell Sarah the word needed to enter, Sarah being a Hufflepuff. She was quite different than the rest of the Ravenclaws, Sarah knew that ever since their first meeting four years ago..

Sarah felt the collision before she saw the girl, falling to the floor. Luckily, she stuck to the back, no one was angry at her for falling backwards. Sarah looked up, and this girl was panicking, extending a hand. Sarah took it, before examining the girl. She was also a first year, Sarah could tell. But dang, for a first year she was gorgeous. Sarah had seen the other first year girls, none of them were that nice looking. Not even older girls. But this girl? Completely different story.
Her auburn curls were what struck Sarah first. Falling across her shoulders and probably falling near the top of her back as well. Next thing that struck Sarah were her eyes. They were a golden brown, it reminded Sarah of a beach sunset. They seemed to hold the depths of the very beach’s crashing ocean in their golden brown beauty. And then there was her mouth. The girl had attempted a smile, it came out in an awkward quirk of one corner of her lips. Sarah found it cute, and endearing. It was as if she had to keep a joke secret.
“Sarah.”

“Guess who’s home!” Sarah smiled softly as she got into Ravenclaw Common Room. Katherine looked up at her girlfriend from her spot on the couch, smiling widely.
“Saz!” She practically leaped from the small couch, engulfing herself into Sarah’s arms. Sarah laughed quietly, it was barely heard, as she set down the crate. Stroking Katherine’s hair seemed a much better alternative to clutching that crate. She loved the feeling of Katherine’s curls wrapping around her finger, just making them curl up more. It was calming to Sarah, as well as Katherine.
The only thing that interrupted their moment of savoring each other was a small sneeze. From the crate.
“You didn't.” Katherine pulled away from the hug, staring at her girlfriend with disbelief. “You didn't bring Cinder.” She clarified, still staring intently at the brunette. Sarah gave a sheepish smile, picking up the crate and taking off the covering. There was a small grey dragon inside, who sneezed again as the covering came off. Smoke came out of her nose as she did. The small dragon looked up with wide excited eyes at Katherine, clawing her claws at the crate’s bars.
“Aww, look Kathy, she does really like you!” Sarah beamed, smirking at her darling all the while. The small dragon and Kath didn't have the best track record. Last time Cinder visited she did start eating off the edges of Katherine’s hair after all…

Katherine squealed. Not in excitement or glee, but fear. “Sarah! Get your mischievous little dragon off of me!” Katherine demanded. The small grey dragon was chewing at Katherine’s hair, flapping her wings as she flew up to Katherine’s fringed bangs. “Hurry!”
Sarah turned with a sigh, going over and grabbing the dragon, Cinder, from her place midair. “Sorry, doll. But I can't help her appetite.” She gave Katherine a soft smile, along with Cinder, who gave her an apologetic growl. Reaching into the satchel around her waist, she gave Cinder a few rats to eat. Cinder didn't go fast, she just continued apologetic growls as she slowly chewed on the rats. “See, she's sorry. Plus, how could you stay mad at this lil’ thing?”
Katherine smiled that secret smile, where one corner quirked up the smallest bit. “You're right. Plus, she belongs to you. How can I despise something of my wonderful girlfriend?” Katherine smiled, getting up and placing a kiss on Sarah’s cheek. “You're forgiven for owning such an evil baby dragon.” And with a giggle, Katherine set a light kiss to the scaley top of Cinder’s head. “You're forgiven too.” And Cinder gave a small noise of happiness and content as Sarah placed her back in the cage. She'd now be able to properly kiss her girlfriend. That was always a plus.

“Like she really likes me.” Katherine rolled her eyes playfully, gently leaning upwards to peck Sarah’s lips. She pulled away far too quickly though, starting to call quietly for her owl. Blizzard the owl was a gentle creature, not the least bit hostile. Sarah admired how Katherine had such a docile creature. Their pets seemed to match with them, in a way.
Sarah was fun loving and a bit mischievous, always messing with the Slytherins and other rude students of Hogwarts. Meanwhile Katherine was calm and mostly quiet. Only opening up around those she loved. Just as Katherine did with Sarah. Just as Blizzard does with Katherine.
That same moment, a brown speckled blur flew past Sarah, and the blur landed on Katherine’s outstretched arm. Katherine loved her speckled owl, with most of her heart,(all of her heart’s love is for Sarah, obviously). She had named Blizzard for the day she was adopted, on a chilly winter night, snow falling in quantities unknown. Katherine saw the scrawny owl, and got her. It brought a smile to Sarah’s face anytime she brought the story up when cooing to her owl. It reminded her just how cute Kath was.
“Did you get Blizzard’s letter today? I sent it during Potions.” Katherine asked, sitting down on the couch again, Blizzard nuzzled in her lap. Sarah smiled, sitting beside her.
“Yep!” Sarah beamed. “You get the Chocolate Frog?”
“Mhm.” Kath hummed, lying her head down on Sarah’s shoulder. “This is one heck of a secret we’re keeping, huh?”
The secret was indeed big. Sarah and Katherine secretly exchanged notes with Blizzard as the message deliverer. Katherine owned an invisibility cloak, which she put over the young owl so it couldn't be seen. Katherine would send Sarah letters. Sarah would send Katherine treats.
“You're just now realizing that?” Sarah joked, poking at Katherine’s side. A light breath of laughter came out of Katherine, a majestic sound. Sarah continued, moving her hands to both of Katherine’s sides and starting to trace patterns into her sides. Just to make her giggle and snort and laugh, which worked. Sarah knew it would…

“You can’t stay mad at me forever, Kath.” Sarah leaned on the other side of the chair they were sharing, peering at her girlfriend. Katherine was faking mad for some stupid Honeydukes argument they got in.
“Watch me!” Katherine stuck out her tongue, turning away from Sarah completely. Sarah smirked, she didn't know if this would work, but Kath just gave her this feeling it would… Sarah extended her hands, stealthily slipping them under Katherine’s Ravenclaw robe so her hand met the fabric of Katherine’s white shirt. Without any warning, she started tickling her. Moving her fingers in miscellaneous patterns on her girlfriend’s side. Katherine responded immediately, shrieking with laughter and giggles, and gosh those snorts.
“Stop!” She wheezed out between shrieks and giggles. Sarah cocked her head to one side, as if she were thinking it.
“Let me think- no.” Sarah grinned, moving her fingers quicker and quicker with even more patterns on the Ravenclaw girl’s sides. Katherine had tears falling down her face.
“Sarah, please stop! You'll do it cause I love you and you love me!” And with that, Sarah wielded her attack, smiling as Katherine buried her head in Sarah’s chest. “Love you..”
“Love you too, Kitty. Utterly.”
*****
“I love you!” Katherine cried out as Sarah continued the current attack. Sarah smiled, taking her hands and shoving them back in her pockets. Everything was peaceful. Katherine’s last giggles fading away into the air, Cinder curled up in her cage sleeping, and Blizzard, nuzzled against Katherine’s foot on the floor, also asleep. Sarah looked over at Katherine. A yawn split the auburn haired girl’s features. Sarah smiled softly at her.
“Tired?” She asked, taking Katherine’s hand. Katherine smiled sleepily, leaning onto her.
“Then sleep.” No more words had to be spoken, Katherine had already drifted. And already tangled up with Sarah too. She clung to Sarah’s arm, with her head resting underneath the arm, and her legs thrown up on Sarah’s lap. Sarah smiled, putting a hand on the small of Katherine’s back, and her head on top of Katherine’s own, and allowed herself to drift.
Everything was magical and perfect.
