INTERVIEW LOOKS! Excluding the clothes, these were all taken post-interview.
So here’s the thing. When you’re trying to get a job, you want your professional qualities and your personality to be what shows. Too much makeup can drown that all and your interviewer may remember your face, but not the person behind it, and that’s just not okay! So here are my tips and tricks and some of the products I use:
Do your eyebrows, I have nothing against that. In fact, I strongly encourage it. Want the fact that you’re neat and put together to show? Eyebrows. In the first pictures I used the Sephora Eyebrow Editor, which I loved for a long time, but it came to be too dark for my already-dark brows when I went blonde. So I’ve switched to Benefit’s Ka-Brow! in a lighter shade and LOVE it.
You also want to pick makeup that enhances a natural feature. Me? I have naturally rosy cheeks and high cheekbones. So I use TheBalm Cosmetics’ Hot Mama! blush, and Vintage Cosmetics highlighter (in Rose Gold, which was my product of the year for 2016) over that. In the bottom two images I contoured using Cargo bronzer, which I’m still learning how to do please don’t judge me oh my god (blending seems to elude me).
Neutral is the thing, I’m a huge fan of the PureCosmetics Buff Collection palette for my skin tone. I also seek rose/mauvey shades for my lips (which have nothing on them in the bottom two pictures because it all came off by the time I remembered to take pictures), and I NEVER wear fake lashes. Like, not even just to interviews, I don’t wear them at all. I’m scared of the glue. Lately I’m feeling Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara, but you have to be CAREFUL applying it or you get spider legs.
As for your hair? You don’t want it to be frizzy and messy, but you can do a lot with it. You can wear it down and straight, or with big curls, or like I did today: in a high ponytail, which is really in this season (thank you, ye gods of fashion)!!
Aaaanyway, these are my tips for an interview look that will impress but won’t outshine your most important qualities! Best of luck out there!!
