Teen Problems

Hello,

There’s this guy in my grade who I am crushing on. I tried to ignore it until I found out a friend (let’s call her R) has liked him for quite some time. And R’s friend (who is his ex) is encouraging them getting together… weird I know. But R hasn’t confessed to him yet and confided in me (I didn’t tell her I liked him because I don’t know him very well and she screenshots conversations and sends them ). He’s shown curiousity in getting to know me and wanting to include me and I recently I tried asking him questions about himself to get to know him yet she always has to dominate the conversation and  try and shift the attention back on her. With the way she’s acting I don’t think I value her friendship all that much and I am thinking about trying to get to know him better even if it’s just as a friend. But I feel this guilt like I should back off even though he’s not hers and she looks to be trying to flirt with him. I also feel helpless like it’s no use due to self-worth issues and the fact she works on ASB with him and has known him longer. What’s your take on it?

Back in middle school I had a crush on a guy and things didn't end very well. I am in 10th grade and still find myself thinking about him and comparing other guys I see to him. Is this normal? And do any suggestions come to mind on how to stop thinking about someone?

This isn't a problem ask, but I remember turning to y'all for help more times than I could count because I felt like there was no one else. Looking over all my old asks, I've realized that I'm feeling better. I'm at least two years clean, I've grown out of starving myself, and while my parents still aren't the best, I've gotten better at handling them! I just wanted to thank you for being there for me when I was having so many issues, and to let you know that I'm finally feeling a little better.

hey there. i don't know if you're still here or if anyone will ever see this, but i just wanted to say that even if i look back on my old self and cringe a little, i really appreciate what you did for me and people like me. nine years ago, i struggled so much i didn't think i could get anywhere. five years ago, when i looked back on my self who was four years younger and marveled at my improvement, i still had issues. now i think i mostly have my life together (i'm in college! i never thought i would get this far!), but it means the world that i had this blog to turn to when i felt like i didn't have anyone to listen.

congratulations on getting into college! school is so hard, i'm so proud of you for perusing academics in a way that hopefully works for you <3 i hope things are going well for you! i'm genuinely impressed with you for having made it so far-- i understand perfectly well how you can live your life thinking "ah, i'm not going to make it further than this" and it can leave you feeling so lost-- but you're going somewhere! you finished high school! you're learning more! wow!! again i'm so proud of you!

and i'm so so happy to know we were there for you. even if it was just to lend a listening ear. that's what we were made for, and it's so delightful knowing we really did help people in any little way. :")

hi, I just got my first job but haven't started yet, and I could use some advice and reassurance! I'll be a private music lesson teacher, but I haven't worked with kids much and I'm worried I won't know how to get along with them! what if they don't like me, or think I'm awkward or boring? what if I accidentally teach them bad practice habits? I want to be nice and fun but I don't want to be too lenient either! I'm probably overthinking but I can't seem to shake any of this! any advice?
