Headcanon: That troll anon has a really pretty singing voice and they care so much about all trolls. When they find injured trolls they would take them home and take care of them and sing to them but she never shows their face and then drop them back at the trolls home when they are healed. The reason they never show their face is because they hate getting a lot of attention.

Name: Empsen Caecus (I lost the meaning of his first name and now I can’t figure it out because I probably switched around the letters or something from the source. However, I don’t really want to change it. Help? His last name comes from the name of an ancient Roman politician, Appius Claudius Caecus, and means “the sightless”. Appropriately, said Roman dude was blind in his elderly years.) Gender: Male Age: Probably just over 6 sweeps Symbol: Upside-down battle axe, or Roman symbol for “injustice”. Ties into a broader theme of corruption. Blood Colour: Land-dwelling purple, or #410b83 Hive: Out in the middle of a field. It’s a fairly decent place, not really much to talk about. Inconveniently located reasonably near a city, so sometimes people wander into the field and Empsen gets really paranoid. Typing Quirk: Capitalizes words that he thinks need emphasis and puts a >|< on the end of each line (to resemble his symbol). Capitalizes pronouns and other words referring to others, unless he’s really insulting them. Rarely curses, as he finds the practice distasteful. Always capitalizes “Me”, “Myself”, and so on to reflect his ego. Otherwise, proper grammar and punctuation. Trollian Handle: revelatoryEspial (clearly not fitting the GCAT format, but I’m using a different format for my fansession, which this dude is part of.) Land: I would like to assign this after I figure out a god tier. God Tier: I do not know. Help? Dream Planet: Prospit probably Strife Specibus and Weapon: Scissorkind- a pair of sewing scissors. Not the pair he actually uses for sewing, as attempting to attack things with them would probably dull them. Fetch Modus: To be decided Lusus: This one I’m having a hard time with. I’m currently thinking a big snake that grows wool like a sheep. Appearance:

Besides what’s pictured, he wears a purple-blue cloak thing sometimes. It makes him feel important. Also, he wears this really ornate eyepatch most of the time, but not around the house and stuff.

Horns:

They’re based off the shape of an actual battle-axe.

Hemoloyalty:

Through the roof. He acts “chivalrous” towards all the bloods below him, but it’s really really patronizing. Respects all the castes above him, even if he really shouldn’t.

Personality:

He’s obnoxiously condescending and also really paranoid. He happens to be under the impression that everyone is out to get him, so he tries very hard to be self-sufficient. This means he makes his own clothes (to avoid hidden pointy things or something stupid like that), researches poison (to avoid it), and attacks anyone too close to his hive. (As a result, he has a few dead bodies lying around. It’s okay in his eyes, they’re lowbloods.) Also, he blames a secret organization of lowbloods that he made up whenever anything bad happens to him, even though it’s usually his fault. That’s another thing: he doesn’t notice his flaws. He’s so ridiculously unaware of himself that he wholeheartedly believes that he is perfect. The only flaw he can admit to is the fact that he’s blind in one eye and has been for as long as he can remember. He speculates that it came from a virus spread by the lowblood organization (actually, he was partially blind in that eye since birth, he just didn’t completely lose sight in it until he was out of the brooding caverns and thus under less scrutiny) He’s very closed-minded and never admits- or believes- that he’s wrong. He has a deep desire to be in complete control of everything and often clashes with his… “friends” because of this. If he ever stopped to think for once, he would probably realize that he’s deeply lonely as none of his friends really like him. He just sort of forced his way into their group, and my seadweller Cuvier is the only one who really tolerates him. Anyways, interests. He sews a lot, for one. He started doing this because of his control freak tendencies, but realized that he genuinely liked it and started just doing it for fun. He’s also somewhat interested in FLARPing, playing his terrible OC. He runs an OC review blog on Trollblr, but he’s really bad at it and pronounces everything absolutely terrible. His own OC is… really bad. Like, really bad. Mysterious sparkle-summoning powers bad. Empsen FLARPs as said OC. He’s also fond of crosswords and other puzzles.

Ancestor and Story:

The Martinet (strict disciplinarian, someone who stubbornly adheres to methods or rules). He spent his life persecuting lowbloods and punishing them for practically everything. Also crushed a few rebellions in his time, most notably the one my other fantroll’s ancestor was involved in. A bit of a WIP, I’ll figure out the specifics on him later.

_____________________________________________________ =|:| <( Alrighty, let’s get this show on the road.) First things first, the name. And I feel your pain on the name forgetting thing, I had that happen to me a few times as well while coming up with my trolls! You can keep the name if you want too, but there’s also no shame in looking for something new that sounds close to what you have here. Even if it is just for the sake of knowing the new one’s meaning. But honestly, you’ve got a whole pick your own poison situation here, so feel free to do whichever you want! However, the last name sounds a-okay!! Next is this dude’s sign/symbol. I’ll come right out and say it, it is an incredibly awesome symbol. Kudos to you my friend, and to quote that one old knight guy in the third Indiana Jones movie: “You have chosen wisely.” Also the symbol reminds me of a bow tie. Which is good given how high up on the hemospectrum he is. =|XD

The blood color checks out and is fantabulous, and you have a good start on this troll’s hive. But I think it could be a bit more detailed?? Like what’s the inside like? His his home big? Or unusually small for a troll like him on the hemospectrum? What’s in his hive? Did he choose to put his hive in a field so he wasn’t too close to a seadweller filled beach? It’s a mystery! Well, at least until you elaborate more on the topic, that is.

His quirk is relatively simple; but from the way you described it, I think it fits. Adding something that looks like his sign at the end of each sentence also adds that personal troll-esque flair, so I’ll give this a pass.

Now people who know how my reviews go know how I love the ol’ GCAT rule. But seeing as you have your own four letter trolltag pattern going on, I think that’s okay! Just as long as the four letters you’re working with have some sort of secret meaning behind them I think you’ll be okay ((for example GCAT has to do with genetics, and I’m unsure of what other letters you’re using aside from E and R)).

His specibus is great! ((bonus points for not just going with axekind, even though it would be pretty appropriate nonetheless.))

But please let this purple nerd run around SGRUB with a giant pair of battle scissors. Or alchemize them to create battle scissor axes. Make this ridiculous as possible, I implore you.

As for fetch modus ideas, I’d take a peek around Wikipedia for stuff about ancient Rome and whatnot. Perhaps one of their old practices could make for an overly complicated item retrieval system, eh???

Next is the lusus, and while a sheep with wool is a cool idea… just hear me out on my idea for a good Empsen lusus okay?? Make his custodian a Strix. What the heck is a Strix?? WELL I’M GLAD YOU ASKED!

In roman mythology a Strix is basically an owl with four legs, red wings, yellow eyes with no pupils, and a long gold beak. Said beak is used to suck the blood out of infants ((which is their fave food btw)) ALSO: they are known to make super creepy owl screeching noises. And since I read ahead about your trolls paranoid personality, I figure having a lusus this damn creepy might be one of the many origins for his skittish side of his personality. Just imagine having your caretaker just randomly come home only to have all sorts of bloodstains on him from 1 or 2 sweep(s) old trolls. Clearly this is great parental material for Empsen AMIRIGHT??

 Next is appearance. I love him he’s ADORABLE?? A+’s all around and if I could give you a gold star sticker for the great sprite somehow I definitely would!!  And the hemoloyalty checks out as sensible, and I like how you’ve explained how judgmental this guy is when it comes to the caste system.

Then there’s the personality. Dear lord this guy is a train-wreck. And I mean that in the good way like “oh lord he’s a dorky asshat who’s going to be traumatized by Sgrub.” Seriously though, the only thing I could think of to add is maybe expand on the conspiracy theories and some of his interests, and you should be good to go. Now that the personality’s over with though, I probably should figure out what sort of god tier this guy needs, right? Right. Aspect-wise, I’m getting some Hope and Space vibes from him. I want to say Page of Space, because he doesn’t realize how bad his art is… but I don’t think it covers what he really needs to work on. As in his arrogance towards lowbloods and how he feels that everyone’s out to get him.The control freak part of him also seems like a Prince thing, given that he’s somewhat destroying the friendship as no one besides your seadweller likes him that much. A Bard of Blood maybe?? Prince of Blood??

As for a land, no matter what classpect you choose for Empsen, make it something where he feels he is being watched 24/7 or the denizen is constantly hunting him. Something that will scare the crap out of him. That ought to work or tie in for whatever quest you come up for said land.  And the Ancestor WIP sounds good thus far! Mod TA: Update folks on your procrastination review catch up blog tomfoolery

=|:D <(Confused by that post title, so am EOF memes.) But to clear up said confusion, here’s a handy dandy explanation. There are quite a few reviews in the askbox, and it’s going to take me a while to get them all done. But in the meantime, I’m going to post a list of what characters are in the inbox, as well as the order I’m going to review them in.  So basically, it’s a review release schedule ((unless another one of the EOF Mod team decides to swoop in and steal one from this order I’m going to put here. Aletry Ardora Review

Here’s a pic of the little monster:

Name: Aletry Ardora.

Aletry is derived from Alectryon, the Ancient Greek word for rooster, and the name of a boy in Greek legend who was supposed to play lookout for Ares while he “spent some time” with Aphrodite, and got turned into a rooster when he fell asleep on the job. Ardora is derived from ardor, the Latin word pertaining to fire and enthusiasm

Pronounciation: (uh-LEH-tree arr-DOOR-uh)

Gender: Female.

Age:  Around six and a half sweeps, so just over fourteen years old in human years.

Symbol: The Phoenix constellation symbol.

Blood Colour: Violet, #9A0F9A

Hive: 

A decently large house under the sea, closer to land than Rengao’s hive. It consists of a bunch of bubble-domes. Some are glass, some are not. Even the non-glass ones usually have a good amount of glass in them so that Aletry can look outside. Some of the domes contain water, but not all. This is because Aletry likes music and such, so her music room has to stay dry due to all of the electronics. Some of the tech is primarily used by landdwellers, so she has to keep that room dry.

The second room she keeps dry is her “treasure room”. It’s full of real treasure she and Rengao found, and random things that washed into the sea from the shoreline. Since she can’t go onto land often, she collects things from the surface. It’s fascinating for her.

The third and final dry room is her fire-room. She has a garden in there, although it’s a bit unkempt. Plants from the land grow there, but she never really tends them. The automatic watering system does all the work. The room is made of glass, and in the center she keeps a fire pit. There’s a system in her hive that keeps the air fresh in the air rooms and lets the smoke from her fire-room out. There’s also a stone-tiled area in her fire-room so that she can play with fire all she wants without wrecking the plants, and a shooting range as well.

All the other rooms are water-filled, and have a clear “punk” motif to them, with laminated posters on the walls of the edgiest rock bands and the finest techno artists that the Alternian empire has to offer. Unfortunately, there aren’t many. Alternia isn’t much for art or music. Her rooms are mostly colored in purple and black, with occasional deep blues. As much as Aletry wants to have some nice magenta in there, she knows she’s too low on the spectrum for it.

Tag explanation: She loves to use her dual-wielding pistols and tends to shoot first and ask questions later. She also has a fascination with fire.

Land: Land of Mechanisms and Cold (LOMAC). A freezing-cold planet where there are several bodies of water where the important things are. Running on the gear mechanisms that dot the landscape makes them move, which speeds up time in the area where the player is. The planet is supposed to be warm and tropical, but ever since time stopped, the Sun Gear in the Tower of Time has stopped moving and generating heat and light. Winds no longer blow. The Sun Gear never rises from its resting place in the tower.

Everything is frozen and dark. All of the consorts believe that this was inevitable, and have descended into depression. The once lively towns are now desolate, and the consorts pray for oblivion or their hero, whichever comes first.

Quest: The quest is to defy the inevitability of this event, and restore the world to its former glory. Repair the broken Sun Gear’s mechanism and replace the stolen gears, which in turn will repair the Tower (the cause of time stopping). Then, the player must start the ball rolling again, and speed up time to the point where everything is fixed. 

God Tier: Witch of Time

Dream Planet: Derse

Strife Specibus and Weapon: 2xpistolkind and Knifekind. Examples include the Phoenix Popguns, the Pirate Pistols, the Firebrand Flintlocks, and the Chrono Cannons for the pistols. For the knives, examples include the Seadagger, the Burning Blade, the Blazing Bayonet, the Mega Machete, and the Tempo Stiletto.

Fetch Modus: ??? I really suck at coming up with these.

Lusus: A creature that looks like a fusion between a peacock, a rooster, an eagle, and a seagull. It’s called a Seanix- essentially an aquatic phoenix with water motifs instead of fire. It possesses the ability to breathe underwater, something unheard of in most avian lusii. Of course, Aletry just calls her “Birdmom”. The lusus does her best to keep Al’s fiery impulses in check, but there’s only so much a giant aquatic cluckbeast can do.

Hemoloyalty:  Loyal, although it gets to the point where she doesn’t really care late in the game. She used to look down on the lowbloods, but gave up on it after befriending them.

Personality:  Interests: Pirates, fire, shooting, the surface, treasure collecting, exploring sea caverns, Alternian leaders, ancient, long-dead creatures, and above all, music.

Dislikes: The idea of inevitability, waiting, being late, deadlines, people who stop her from doing things she thinks is fine, taking orders, being dependent on anyone else, when things get too deep or philosophical, people who think they know better than her, and cold places.

Basic personality: Aletry is a firebrand of a violetblood with a tendency to take her anger out on the things around her if anything goes wrong. This is the kind of kid who carries a Lego cube around with her to throw at the ground when she gets angry, then calms down by putting it back together. She loves to play with fire, literally and figuratively. As a result, she has some burn-scars on her hands. She doesn’t mind though. They look badass to her and they’ve caused her hands to toughen up as well. As a rebellious sort, she hates taking orders from anyone and will outright defy most people just to see what they do.

Fate and eventuality are some of her least favorite concepts to deal with. She controls her own path, and exerts that right at every opportunity. Essentially, she acts like she has ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder). Her fate is hers to choose. Waiting is one of her least favorite things to do. She is extremely impatient and it drives her absolutely crazy to have to wait for anything. If someone says “Give me a minute.”, she will actually count the seconds and start nagging them mercilessly about it once the time is up.

Aletry knows herself very well, and knows what she wants. Of course, these wants can sometimes manifest as impulses that she doesn’t have too much control over. This can lead her to act in ways that can be dangerous to the team and to herself. She can be quite introverted, and doesn’t like spending much time around the other trolls. Social situations can be exhausting.

She is a proud troll, and hates it when her pride is hurt by anything. The other trolls in her session find her annoying with all of her shenanigans, but admit that she keeps life interesting. A couple even respect her “I don’t give a f**k” attitude. There are a few that find her carefree, “let’s find out what this button does” kind of style to be dangerous and irresponsible. Naturally, she hates these people.

One of her favorite things in the world is music. She hates that there isn’t much of it on Alternia that fits her style, so she’s taken it into her own hands to make her own. She has an entire array of devices for making techno, a turntable for scratching records, a drum set, and a pair of electric guitars. On top of this, she has a separate computer for recording and remixing her music. She’s actually really talented, but most others don’t really “get” her style. Aletry never goes anywhere without her headphones and music player. Once she meets the human players of another session, she is astounded by the sheer variety that Earth music has. Her favorite song is a meta-reference, as she finds Pumpkin Party in Sea Hitler’s Water Apocalypse on the Internet and immediately loves it.

Aletry tries to take the lead sometimes, but needs a good second in command (if she’s not shot down by the team’s Thief of Blood or Rengao, the fuschia-blooded Knight of Void). This second is usually Rengao, but only if he doesn’t try to take the lead instead. Even when in charge, she’s prone to experimenting with different solutions and methods, not all of them good. As a result of this, she tends to be shouted down whenever she has an idea. It doesn’t help that she has a philosophy much like that of Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus. “Take chances! Make mistakes! Get messy!”

Usually, if Aletry fails she’ll get right up again and keep trying. It takes several failures to get her down. If and when she does, though…. It’ll take forever to get her going again. However, whenever she succeeds at something, she gets a burst of energy and determination to get more done/figure her powers out as god-tier further.

Aletry is a highly determined troll with an iron will. If she wants something done, she will stop at almost nothing to accomplish it. She refuses to believe that there is no saving someone, and will go to great lengths just to save a life. She is highly talented with music and dance, and loves to show it. Al isn’t very good in social situations, but that doesn’t stop her from having fun. Screw marching to the beat of the others! She’s got her own drum, her own path!

Some negative traits include being childish, impulsive, impish, disorganized, hot-tempered, impatient, noisy, and self-confident. She is also very sensitive about her height- we’re talking Edward Elric level here. She’s small, sure, (barely 5 feet tall) but say anything about it (or anything close to it) and she’ll try to deck you. Saying the word “shrimp” around her immediately sets her on edge and she’ll pretty much pounce on you. Using it to describe her… That’s basically signing your death warrant.

Aletry wants to be the leader of a Flaysquad or a team of Snknifers (sn-EYE-ferr) someday, and practices her shooting and knife-fighting every day in the hopes that she will be. She uses Knifekind as a side strife specibus, but only when things get really up-close. She trains for combat every day, and is an excellent markswoman in ranged combat.

In short, Aletry is a little firebrand of a troll, but she’s an important member of the team who gets things done. Timey-wimey shenanigans are her strength.

Ancestor and Story:  Aletry’s Ancestor was The Picaroon. The Picaroon was a thieving, roguish scoundrel who caused trouble across the Alternian seas. She was famous for pulling ridiculous stunts, distracting the other ships’ crews and allowing her shipmates to acquire the element of surprise.

Eventually, she and her team of pirates ended up being drafted as privateers under orders of )(IC to man one of her many sea-patrol ships and keep the rebels from taking to naval warfare. The Picaroon was captured by the rebels after an unexpected airstrike from a mind-controlled dragon lusus destroyed her small fleet, and although she fought bravely, she was taken hostage by the rebels and held for ransom. She was never rescued. Instead, she fought her way out after she got a gullible member of the rebel army to fall for her “sore wrists” act and undo her bonds.

Wounded and bleeding from several places, she finally made it to The Grand Highblood’s palace (swimming would’ve been a death sentence- hungry lusii lurk in the depths). Instead of receiving care for her injuries, she found that the plan was to have her lead the rebels after her into a slaughter. She was nothing more than bait on a hook meant for the rebel army. She had outlived her use. The Grand Highblood himself painted the walls violet with her blood. Thus, the Picaroon died, leaving no record of her existence but a now-faded smear on a blood-covered wall. ______________________________________________________ =|:D <(And at last Sora I am fin-ally reviewing your cute seadweller troll!!) Took me long enough, right?? =|XD But I digress. Tiem 4 critiquing. The name’s great. It’s GREAT. A++ you pass the first round of the review, congrats! Now for a rooster themed troll, I can’t say I like the idea of you using the Phoenix’s constellation sign for it. So I whipped up a sign alternative to match her theme better!

Here we see some unique versions of signs that represent the sun!! However they’re a bit too detailed to be good troll signs. So with a little MS paint magic, I can fix that ASAP!!

TA DAAAAA!! A brand new shiny and theme appropriate sign for your fantroll!! Next, I want to bring up that blood color. It is definitely too bright for a troll, so I’ll give you a selection of more acceptable violet colors of potential blood.

Her hive also sounds really great too?? However, I have to correct you on the fact that Alternia does indeed have an art industry. Remember creepy ol’ Equius and his collection of disgusting horse imagery?? We did get a very specific look into one art subculture, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if general art like the way we think of museum quality art is around. After all, culled troll blood is used to make paint. So they definitely have some sort of warped creative streak. Punk bands also exist too, though. In fact this was confirmed in the upcoming HS point and click game’s concept art. Check it out!

Her quirk is fantastic too! Those emotes of hers are just adorable. However, I’m not too fond of her trolltag. It’s much too plain and obvious of both her personality as well as interests. Also trolltags are usually have very fancy wording too them. So I highly recommend spelunking around thesuarus.com and some other sites to find more fitting alternatives. I love the land too, but something does bother me about it. You didn’t really mention how this land would challenge Aletry. Lands not only have to match the player’s aspect in question, but the quest the planets provide must somehow challenge the player. Thereby allowing them to grow into the best person they can be so they can enter the new universe as one of its gods. It is a fantastic start, but it just needs that one last touch up of info for it too work! And with the god tier, there lies the problem. Alerty, at least from what I can tell from her personality, strikes me as more of a Life player than a Time player. She’s impatient and rambunctious as well as willing to take risks. And since she likes to ‘play with fire’, with Life as her aspect she’d be forced to preserve herself and her vitality. Life players are also almost always associated with being rebellious. Look at both the Peixies with wanting to change their society to fir their beliefs despite their societies’ mindsets, or Jane in how she wanted to leave her house despite the danger that being the heiress of the BC company meant. For the specibus, I would just stick to either one or the other, as it’s very rare for a character to just have two specibuses. I get that she has two career ideas in mind and the two weapons reference that, but for the sake of simplicity maybe just stick with one. As for a modus, maybe an alarm modus?? When the user puts items away they go to ‘sleep’, and then get sent back out of the sylladex when ‘morning’ arrives. The more important the item, the longer it takes for the item to sleep and wake up. And sometimes the items might not even be ‘morning people’ and every once in a while a random item will take longer to get out of storage because it has a hard time ‘waking up’ The lusus is GREAT. It sounds like a weird bird monstrosity and therefore that makes it fantastic.  Everything from her loyalty and personality is wonderful too, as per usual with your submissions.  The ancestor has a good story, but I do have a couple of nitpicks to dish out. First of all, a highblooded ancestor ((trolls from the teal caste all the way to fuchsia)) have 8 by 8 names instead of just one. Secondly, I’m a bit worried about the inclusion of canon ancestors. Normally I don’t have a problem with that, but since you have a fuchsiablood troll of your own, it concerns me that your session of trolls does not take place in an AU. The comic clearly states that there are only two fuchsias alive at one time in the canon HS Alternia universe, the Empress and her Heiress ((or heir in your case)). So I would suggest you reconsider about what universe you are in to make sure you’re not messing with already established canon facts.

=|:| <( Okay here’s what is going on folks.) First and foremost, I’m sorry about the long posts in the fantroll tag. I will do my best to condense things as much as I can. However, my computer legit refuses to cooperate with me with the readmore feature. I looked up a few tutorials and enlisted the help of Mod CS, so I do know how to do it, it’s just my computer doesn't register what I need to actually make that an actuality. This isn’t the first time tumblr has had issues with my computer either. The messaging system took DAYS for it to work without my computer doing wacky things. Mod CS has told me themselves on Skype to continue tagging the reviews and submission using the ‘fantroll’ tag, so until I can get my PC in order and actually find a way to get it to cooperate with tumblr’s features, every post from me will indeed be cumbersome for those of you who like a more fluid and short fantroll tag browsing experience. I’ll try to give the other four mods a heads up and to maybe use the readmore feature themselves when the time comes for them to eventually return from school and do more troll critiques. But seeing as I’m the sort of the one who’s on the most, I ask you to bare with me and my myriad of technical absurdities. The askbox always usually has something in it, and I can’t just leave your submissions and asks for too long. So prep your tag blacklists for the tag ‘long post’ if you don’t want jumbo sized troll reviews when those do come out.  Once again I apologize for this inconvenience, and I hope you continue to enjoy the blog’s content in the future.  =|:| <( - Mod TA)
