I'm fairly sure 17+ is what the appstore people rate tumblr, but tumblr rates *itself* as 13+ I mean I've been wrong before, but this is my working assumption
They rate it 13+ because they're legally allowed to. That's not necessarily a resounding endorsement for 13yos being on here imo. Especially since so many of them lack basic internet safety or the maturity to curate their internet experiences.

I don't know why antis still use ao3 tho? Back in my days when you had a conflict with mods of archive/community, you just grab your fics and as angsty teen you indeed were went and made you own (lol the irony). There's still some constructors which will let you make a site from scratch even without rudimentary code knowlege, and it's free (ridden with ads but well what did you expect and for the most cases you could cancel ads for couple of $). It's not as comfortable as ao3 but it's possible it's easy and you totally can ban any "wrong" content! Why attack and hatehatehate if you can build something for youself and your community?
Using ao3 while having an issue with it is way different than having an issue with say, Amazon and still using Amazon - you can't really not use Amazon sometimes. But if you're so against ao3 why the fuck are you still there. You don't need access to it like the everyday person needs access to the products and services Amazon provides?
Anyway the answer is it costs a ton of money to run and host a site like ao3 (with the amount of traffic etc) and they know that so they just talk shit, they want everyone they don't like to leave ao3 so they can use the site how they want, forgetting the founders of ao3 are proshippers.
Where on the spectrum from antiship to proship falls someone who has the attitude of 'I recognize I have no power over what other people create and post online but I do have the power to cut off/block people over what they create and post online'?

It's so weird to me how anti-Reylos wanna push a narrative about him "abusing" her ("HE PUSHED HER AGAINST A TREEE!!!!!!!" she was literally shooting at him lol) when Kylo's canonically been a literal abusive victim for life (Snoke's been manipulating him since childhood, again this is canonical information) and the reason I attached to him so much is because he's not an "ideal victim" like how they wanna Rey out to be some poor defenseless victim.
But if you bring this up people will act like you're trying to attack Han or Leia's (understandable yet still questionable because they are flawed human beings and not perfect parents even though they were your childhood heroes) choices in how they decided to deal with the situation.
(Rey IS a victim, but not of Kylo, she's a victim of her slaver on Jakku AND of her stupid nameless parents TROS made up on the fly who sold her to into child slavery "to protect her" and the movie wants to pretend this is a noble act.)
(Also, Snoke and Hux ordered the Hosnian system to be destroyed, Kylo literally tried to convince them not too, which is not something they would have included if they wanted us to see him as a ruthless killer. The hierarchy of power is not 100% clear but he seems like a tool to Snoke, who again, has been manipulating him since childhood canonically.)
The Wookieepedia refers to what Snoke did to Kylo as grooming which is a very significant choice of word in my opinion. You'd think that would jump out at people but apparently no.

That is 100% on the proship side of the slider. Like no one says you have to like or want to consume the media (and if they do they're a red flag) in order to defend the right for it to exist.
The system has various things they personally will not consume. Some of it is contradictory; Ares for example won't read anything that contains minors in sexual situations at all while the rest of us have a cutoff age of age of consent (16+) in media that places those older teens in life or death situations.
It's not that Ares doesn't like some minor characters in concept, it's just that he'll only read aged up fics of them because of what he enjoys. He also doesn't give a shit that the rest of us read what we read. There are several other examples of this, I'm just using the most sfw one.
If Ares was a singlet, he wouldn't have "read" any of those fics at all is what I'm getting at, putting him in the same situation as you, and with a topic a lot of proshippers don't have an issue with. And there's nothing wrong with that, just like there's nothing wrong with you wanting to avoid topics that make you uncomfortable.
Being truly proship is being anti-censorship. You are talking about being anti-censorship and just applying the fandom discourse labels to it. You can avoid them entirely and just call yourself anti-censorship instead. It's what we do.
You also do not have to be part of the proship community even if you fit the label. This is something I see people struggling with a lot; that falling under the label makes you part of the community - it doesn't. Being part of the community is an active choice. Just doing your thing quietly while fitting the criteria makes you "proship" in the sense that you check off the boxes, not that you're automatically us vs them. This shit is opt-in, not opt-out. The section of the pinned post has to do with fitting the label itself, not being part of everything.
