hi! how many applications did you receive? i noticed u weren't disclosing it earlier which was understandable since apps were open and didnt want to discourage those from applying. but now that they're closed, could you reveal the number? just want to see what my chances were!

Hi! We’ve received somewhere between 100 and 150 applications, so we’re def a bit busy right now 😅

Can you put an explanation of the for-profit model in the About section of this blog? How much patrons will have to pay for the magazine, where the profits are being directed, et cetera.

Hi!

So basically the way this works is we will first cover all shipping/production fees for contributors, which means you don’t have to pay a thing for your copies of the zine/merch. If there is leftover profit (ie after covering all production costs and shipping for contributor zines), it will be split evenly amongst contributors. Hope that answers your question!

Hi! We’re mostly looking at your style to see whether it would be a good fit for the zine :) Since atla is also an asian-inspired universe, we will also be looking at whether artists can depict poc accurately and respectfully.

As someone who wants to apply for the zine, I was wondering what kind of format do you want the art portfolio to be in? (Slide presentation, website, PDF)

If you choose to share a google folder or something of the sort though, please make sure the sharing permissions will allow us to actually see the pieces. :)
