has it ever been specified if poison ivy was bi, pan, or a lesbian? because a lot of people say she’s a lesbian even though she’s been shown to have been attracted to men before, and i don’t think it was comp het.
In cases like this, it’s very unusual for characters who are in a long running, still ongoing comic series to definitively label their sexuality. For example, if you look at characters close to Ivy like Harley or Catwoman, none of those characters have labelled their sexuality although they have been with people of different genders. People are left to draw their own conclusions, and even when a writer steps in and label a character’s sexuality, it’s often dismissed.
When it comes to Ivy its a complicated situation. The only mentions of her attraction to men is when she has a boyfriend in college and is “seduced” by Jason Woodrue. She also has sometimes been an occasional romantic interest of Batman (though at this point which female DC character hasn't been, looking at you bruce Timm). So, her attraction to men is easily dismissed especially when you compare it to her only female love interest – Harley. Which is an incredibly popular and long running relationship.
Ivy also tends to state her disdain for humans in general, with Harley being the only constant that she likes or loves. As well as all this, lesbian characters are rare so people have given her the label.
