I'm playing rimworld, and a doe went mad and started attacking people, but then it went after a 10 year old wild woman that had wandered in earlier. Of course, I didn't feel like I could just allow this small child to die, so I helped her take it out. We succeeded, with an embarrassing number of missed shots, and then that night I finally remembered to rescue the child, about 6 hours from death.
As soon as she was in the hospital, though, an even younger wild woman wandered in, like she had instantly heard of the colony that heals injured children and came by.
Now I have a 10 year old named slag in our hospital, and a 6 year old named fleshball just waiting to be injured, and they both think they're better than us. Slag is also a vegetarian with an ideology that includes gladuator duels.
EDIT: there is more to this post, check the reblogs, it's a whole story by now and there's a cowboy
I was playing with the Alien mod in rimworld and holy, this mod makes some awesome characters. My personal favorite is called Rat.
Basically, my facehugger latched onto a type of demon called a hellguard and created this monster. Not only only is she 8ft tall, but she can create explosions around herself at will. Also she's jacked.
Feeling kinda bitter and underwhelmed that the RimWorld fanbase largely isn’t concerned with the wider lore of this massive and vague universe they find themselves in. Meanwhile Minecraft fans are having a grand ol’ time speculating about an equally massive and vague universe. C’mon, guys, the “RimWorld Lore” tag is barren!
I once had Vanilla Psycasts Expanded and Vanilla Persona Weapons Expanded.
I got started and rolled a psycaster into the Warlord path
Bit later found a persona monosword that granted psyfocus on kill.
See the fun thing about Warlord is that it has an ability called Killskip that teleports to the nearest enemy and performs a melee strike. If the target is killed you teleport to the next one no charge!
It also has an ability called Controlled Frenzy that doubles damage output and, on kill, restores neural heat AND resets the duration of the effect.
Sprinkle in a little blade focus, speedboost, and adrenaline rush for the psychic cherry on top then make them a sanguophage (basically, it was a modded angel xenotype that had the same melee damage stats). It was destructive.
Now, you might say, "Willow, that's a level 5 cast! Surely that took a very long time to get to?"
Wrong again!
Because you see, the best part of this all? The best part of this already ridiculous raid-wiping monstrosity?
Vanilla Psycasts Expanded. Gives psycaster XP based on psyfocus gained, not purely based on meditation.
Needless to say ,that is why I no longer talk about psycasts expanded when discussing "balanced" playthroughs. Here's Video Proof.
So I've decided to make all the Twisted Wonderland characters in Rimworld. I have the House Wardens done with skills and traits figure to the best of my ability, considering not all their skills translate well to you know.... survival sims.
Since there's 7, and a trait breakdown, ill put it all under the cut. I do mod my playthroughs, so since I have a social mod that tends to change pawns traits over time, each is limited to 5 traits.
~~~~~
Riddle
Abrasive- always says exactly what's on their mind, especially if it's bugging him. That tends to rub people the wrong way.
Bloodlust- gets a rush from hurting people, and never minds the sight of blood or death.
Hard Worker- is a natural hard worker and will finish tasks faster than most.
Workaholic- is a natural hard worker and will finish tasks faster than most.
Neat - (mod) is naturally hygienic and organized. They will not track in dirt or throw trash anywhere, and feel happy while cleaning.
~~note~~ I attempted to find a better fitting trait other than bloodlust, but I don't have anything modded in that would equivalent 'scrappy' or 'argumentative', so bloodlust it is. Therefor Epel, Floyd and a few others might be stuck with this one.
Leona
Greedy- needs a really impressive bedroom. He gets a mood loss if they don't get what they want.
Lazy- is a little bit lazy.
Vengeful- (mod)is fueled by spite. They can't stand walking on the same soil as their rivals and will be elated by the news of their life ending.
Heavy Sleeper- (mod) A bomb could go off next to Leona while they sleep and they'd continue to do so. They can't be bothered to defend the colony mid catnap, either.
Gastronomist Refined Palate- (mod) Only the finest of culinary creations may grace their lips. They feel neutral towards mundane meals but will laud and savor lavish meals down to the last bite.
~~note~~ Gastronomist seams geared more towards being a cook, felt Refined Palate fit better after looking through to get trait definitions~~
Azul
Gourmand- life revolves around food. He gets hungry quickly, and if he is in a bad mood, he will often satisfy his-self by eating.
Great memory- has a fantastic memory for detail. He will lose unused skills at half the rate of other people.
Too smart- is too smart for his own good. He learns everything much faster than everyone, but can be quite eccentric.
Tycoon- (mod) has an eye for silver and a tongue made from it. They believe their products are the best and he will likely convince you if given the chance.
Refined palate- (mod) Only the finest of culinary creations may grace their lips. They feel neutral towards mundane meals but will laud and savor lavish meals down to the last bite.
Kalim
Kind- is an exceptionally agreeable and giving person. He never insults others and will sometimes offer kind words to brighten the moods of those around him. He also never judges people by their appearance.
Absent-Minded- (mod) Tends to occasionally allow their mind to drift, even in the middle of working.
Fun-Loving- (mod) always recalls the good times and lives to party, any party attended will be remembered for many times longer than most.
Joyous- has the ability to make everyone feel better and inspire them to be the best version of themselves.
Submissive- (mod) needs clear instructions on how, and when to do certain things and will only work at a normal speed when being forced to do something.
~~note~~ if your unfamiliar with Rimworld, a characters' background can restrict job types.
Vil
Hard Worker- is a natural hard worker and will finish tasks faster than most.
Beautiful- is exceptionally beautiful, with an exotic-yet-familiar facial structure and an arresting gaze. People are attracted to him before he even opens his mouth.
Teetotaler- abhors the idea of gaining pleasure from chemicals. He strictly avoids alcohol and recreational drugs.
Hygienic- (mod) will get a mood boost from being clean and a mood debuff from being dirty. They will prioritize using showers and bathtubs.
Jealous- it's degrading to have a less impressive bedroom than someone else. He gets a mood loss if any colonist has a more impressive bedroom.
Idia
Wimp- is weak and cowardly. Even a little pain will immobilize him.
World Weary-(mod) has grown tired of the world and needs to be constantly distracted to stop dark thoughts. His bleak personality is a big downer and therfore it is very hard to become friends with him.
Anxious- (mod) Feels naturally anxious, but especially from social situations. They will not attend any gatherings and may occasionally need alone time in their room to breathe.
Too smart- is too smart for his own good. He learns everything much faster than everyone, but can be quite eccentric.
Couch potato- (mod) An armchair and a flatscreen is all they need to be happy.
Disturbing- is a peculiar person who seems fixated on horrendous ideas. Talking to him/her is often upsetting.
Fun-loving- (mod) always recalls the good times and lives to party, any party attended will be remembered for many times longer than most.
Mountain lover- (mod) The mountains call to him. He feels happier just being near a large mountain.
Night owl- likes to work at night. He gets a mood bonus if awake at night and mood loss if awake during the day. He doesn't get a mood penalty for being in the dark.
Technophobe- (mod) Whether by past trauma or fear of change, they rejects modernity. They may randomly punch or attack mechanical devices and refuses to learn or research anything about them. They also love killing machines
Playing on an ice sheet and there was a ice storm. Had my colonists inside the base while all hell went down outside. I have a mod that respawns new wild animals and since the animals kept dying because of cuts and respawning I ended up with +120 dead animals.
