Operating by what feels comfortable can save your life. Doing what makes you feel uncomfortable and is out of your comfort zone can also save your life. Simply said: Do you; but sometimes and at some point you should step outside of your "normal" boundaries and try that thing that you're afraid of. You may realize that it isn't as scary as you thought it would be, and perhaps, even, that it's what you've needed all along. It may CHANGE your life.
