There's something ironic about the two of them being muses, the inspiration behind great works of art, when they're more broken than the clay busts discarded in the back of the museum.
Or, Tony realizes it's futile to become the man the world sees him as, how ridiculous it is for Peter to try and mimic the pale figure trapped in photographs and marble sculptures. They'll be together no matter what anyway, arrogance and pride and ego just something else to love.
