I had the opportunity to stay at a Business Class room at the Coronado Springs Resort during my most recent visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Let’s take a closer look at this unique accommodation option:
Location, location, location. The Business Class rooms are located in the Cabanas section of the resort. While the Casitas may be more convenient to El Centro (the lobby), we found our building, 9B, to be very convenient to the key amenities. In fact, we were about a five-minute walk from the lobby, dining, shopping and the bus stop. The Dig Site, which features a variety of recreational activities, including a large pool complete with Mayan pyramid and water slide, arcade and playground, was a bit more of a hike but still within 5-7 minutes of our room. We could have easily strolled over to use the smaller pool at the neighboring building instead of walking to the Dig Site.
Parking. Depending on room location, Guests will either park in the main parking lot or the lot adjacent to Building 9A. Our room was 9640, and located in the western wing; we found it more convenient to park in the main parking lot during our stay.
The room. Our room featured two Queen beds, however, Guests can also book Business Class rooms with a King bed. Instead of a small table and chair set found in most resort hotels, our room featured a desk with power outlets, rolling chair and lounge chair.
While some of the other moderate resorts provide curtains to separate the sleeping area from the sink area, Coronado Springs Resort Guests have the added bonus of sliding wood doors. The doors are a nice upgrade, and afforded us some privacy when getting ready to head out or for bed.
The decor isn’t knock-you-over-the-head Southwest. Instead, the rooms are classy and feature understated Southwestern touches. The color scheme is soothing and almost spa-like with turquoise accents and carved dark wood furniture.
Other room amenities include:
Flat screen TV
DVD player (unique to Business Class)
Coffee maker
Mini-fridge
Bath robe (unique to Business Class)
Wall safe
Upgraded mattress (unique to Business Class)
Business Class Guests also have access to personalized Front Desk and Guest Services as well as turn down service.
Complimentary food and drink. Not only do Business Class Guests at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort enjoy upgraded amenities and a convenient location, they also have exclusive access to Coconino Cove! Located on the ground floor of Cabana Building 9B, Coconino Cove provides Business Class Guests with complimentary access to food and drink between the hours of 7AM-10AM and 5PM-10PM. Guests must use their MagicBand to access the lounge.
It’s all about the Hamiltons. You may be wondering “How much does it cost to upgrade to a Business Class room?” Like other resorts, Coronado Springs Resort features a bevy of room types. The Business Class rooms (standard and king) rack rates range from $278-$357 depending on the time of year. To be honest, for Guests planning to stay in a standard room, upgrading to Business Class may not be worth the additional $90 per night. On the other hand, Guests planning to stay in a Water View or Preferred room may find the additional $47 and $17 nightly increase more affordable. (All additional costs are averages and just approximate). If you’re already able to foot the bill for a preferred room, why not pay a bit more and have access to the extras?

Aquatic Play Area at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort-Photo Credit Disney
Guests staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter are in for a real treat! The new aquatic play area just opened and kids under 48 inches can play to their hearts’ delight! With the Summer months fast approaching, the kids in your group are sure to enjoy the cool water features.
Located near Dubloon Lagoon Pool and decked out in the traditional Mardi Gras colors of gold, purple and green, the new play area allows your children to “enjoy water slides that are just their size, play with fun water cannons, and splish-splash among fountains.” (Excerpt from Disney Parks Blog). Because of its location near the resort’s main pool, Guests and their little ones can easily go back and forth between the two during their stay at the resort.
DIStracted Tip: Please note that children must be 48 inches or under to access the new aquatic play area.
