Hi everyone!

You may have noticed that we’ve gotten a little slower on the reblogging around here lately.  We’ve been feeling the crunch since January, really, after one of our mods needed to step away.  Now, sadly, a second moderator had had to take a step back from the challenge.  Both are definitely missed and keeping up with the blog has gotten just that little bit harder.  We’ve talked about a few different options and decided that our best course of action is to bring on another moderator (or maybe even two).

The ideal candidate is someone who:

Loves Gabriel

Will enjoy coming up with creative prompts

Is open to reading a variety of genres, ships, and other content

Can work well within a team

Will create Gabriel fan works with us most months

If checking out and reblogging a bunch of Gabriel fan creations based on prompts that YOU helped to create sounds right up your alley, fill out this form! (It’s the same form as the links at the top and bottom of this post)

The link will take you to a google form with a couple of questions to help us get to know you a little bit better.  The form will be available until June 9, 2018 at about 11 pm EST.  After that, the current mods will take about a week to review people’s responses and we’ll be in touch soon after!  Our goal is to have a new moderator on the team with plenty of time for them to be a part of the July prompt making process.

Moderator Search

Hey all!

So checkprivilege is near and dear to my heart.  However, when I started CP I was in college, healthy, and I had the time and energy to commit to the growth and development of this blog.  There’s a few of us who contribute to this project but we all seem to be overtaken by the rigors of life and it doesn’t seem as if we have the time that I truly believe checkprivilege deserves.  Because of this, I’d like to add another two, maybe even three (or perhaps more, depending), moderators to the group.  

Use the submit option to let us/me know your interest in becoming a moderator/contributor.

Please include a name (we can arrange for you to use a handle on cp if you wish), age (or general age group), relevant experience(s), relevant identities (can include gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion and so much more -- look at our moderator bios if you need inspiration), preferred pronouns, an email address, and how you heard about checkprivilege or how long you’ve been following the blog. Also include why you want to join the checkprivilege team and the name of a tumblr blog that you can be contacted through so that I can let you know that we received your submission. (It wouldn’t be a bad idea if this blog was in some way reflective of you and your blogging.)  

Don’t worry about order or too much adherence to exactly those things -- mostly I want us to be able to get an idea of who you are, and what you can contribute to checkprivilege. 

I know that there are a lot of really great, qualified people out there.  Right now, what is most important is making sure that checkprivilege can get the attention and love it deserves that I am currently unable to provide.  This means, that we are really going to need people who have time and energy to commit to this. 

As of right now, this search is open-ended because I am not sure what type of response to expect.  If you have interest -- the earlier you contact us, the better.

This is Mod Stephanie coming to you live from the comfort of my living room couch.

My purpose for writing this post is that I wanted to inform you that both Mod Valerie and I will be very busy over these next few weeks.

I just started a new job and am working on acquiring a second one because I have bills to pay, and Valerie will be taking a break from Tumblr for personal reasons.

As a result, I’ve decided to open up a slot for one extra moderator.

The job is really simple. In fact, all you have to do is meet the following criteria for it.

CheckPrivilege is looking to add another moderator.  In addition to looking for people who are passionate about what we are doing here, it is in the best interest of the blog to continue adding diversity amongst our moderators.  This is something that will be considered when choosing another moderator.
