Watching "Modern Marvels: Addicted to Chrome," which was first aired in 2022, if the info is correct. They just had a segment on this one company, that I didn't hear the name of because of the machine noises, which is the only stainless steel manufacturing plant in the United States.
Also learned that chrome is used in the make up of stainless steel. It's what makes it rust resistant.
I don't know what country the chromium comes from though because I missed the beginning of the episode.
