She was something remarkable he hadn’t hoped to even wish for, seated at the bar of a too cool lounge, nursing an Old Fashioned and feeling that way himself. You’re too young to be lonely- set up on a blind date with a friend of a friend, Killian had sighed and allowed his gaze to wander the bar.
She hadn’t been there to meet him, but such as with everything magical in the world, he had found her regardless. He texted Belle while Emma was at the bar ordering another round- do you want a gin and tonic? They make the best ones here- an apology that he wouldn’t be able to make the date she had kindly set up, and to pass his regrets on to the lady. They had sat together, glassware littered across the table as she taught him to catch the olives she tossed in the air, the muted light above the corner booth comfortable and concealing, and he had thought it a one time thing. But she took his phone and texted herself- there, now you have to call me- a smirk on her lovely face. And he did, the next morning, eager and happy, a new feeling he was afraid of getting used to.
She’d blown into his world, stubborn and beautiful and tenacious, a siren his old worn heart had not a hope of resisting. Not that he had wanted to. He would have given her anything she wished, still would in fact, but the strange truth of her want for only him warmed his heart.
