        lexa just...observes for several silent moments as the stone hits the water with a loud kerplunk! the noise stretches all the way to the trees on either side of the lake, and at the rate she’s going, malee is going to scare away all the wildlife in the surrounding area. “ yeah, you tell that piece of shit who’s boss. ” lexa winds up for another throw, though it’s not quite as good as some of her first, only bouncing three times before sinking.

in the dark of the theater, it was easy to hide the evidence, but with the lights now turned on, her emotional side was revealed to her best friend. before her somber expression was replaced with a scowl, lexa blew her nose into her tissue and discarded it, among many more, as they exited.

“ listen....listen! “ she said again with more emphasis. “ she just wanted to be wanted... to feel happiness again. everything else was a damn trash fire. jennifer, we don’t deserve you. ”
