There’s never a casual in-between for Ellie: either it was all too easy for her to completely crash, or she was up for hours, thinking and overthinking details from the day or from years ago. Tonight, she was far too full of anxious adrenaline to consider the possibility of sleep, except for the fact she'd been on her feet for close to 24 hours.

At this point, she couldn't even REMEMBER asking Wyatt to stay ( and that's for the best: while others would think her sleepy deliriousness sweet, she would only hear the quiet "please stay" as pathetic and desperate ). But he was still here, making light conversation that Ellie was too spaced out too properly reciprocate. She'd tried a little Zelda, a hot shower, and age-old classic COUNTING SHEEP, but her eyes were still open — just — brain still whirring.

Totoro leapt onto the bed, settling almost her chest, purring loud enough to shake shampoo bottles, momentarily bringing Ellie's awareness back, allowing her to acknowledge the fact that Wyatt seemed to be half-way through a verse. As her eyes drifted shut, Ellie smiled, and she knew what she WANTED to say, though she doubted they came out as eloquently as she imagined.

"Don't go before I can talk." Her arm reached out, trying to grab for him, searching for the physical comfort of his presence to accompany the soft action.

I danced, I cried, I sang along, it was everything. You’re a rockstar, I swear to god. Also that Les I saw on stage? I want it. I’m gonna steal it. You’ve been warned. Anyway, I wanted to stick around to say hi but there were way too many people and I’m getting too old to stay up so late, but we should go get some juice or something, one of these days (this sounds so lame, I know).
