since there's SO little positivity for trans people who aren't gay or into the same gender yet society doesn't usually reward that attraction since they're trans, this blog is SO important!!! straight trans guys really often struggle with losing that sense of community and support from when they thought they were gay (if they did), and are treated like their attractions are straight so that means they don't need support for them (they do!!!)
Oh boy! Ok, let’s talk about this, shall we?
There is positivity for trans people who aren’t gay. In fact, gay trans people get less recognition, not more. The reason you see more positivity posts and blogs for them is because they need it.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but transgender people that identify solely with a binary gender (male or female) and are attracted solely to people of the other binary gender are straight. That is indeed the correct term. To say otherwise is to reject that trans men are real men and trans women are real women. The term straight does not belong to cis people.
I will say this: when I came out as a trans man, I did feel a sense of loss at exiting the lesbian community. However, I found my place in the trans community and don’t miss my old community much anymore. The trans community is alive and kicking. You’ve just gotta find your niche.
I will end this by assuring all followers that there is indeed nothing wrong with being a straight trans man or woman, but society as a whole isn’t telling you that. As a matter of fact, society assumed you (straight trans person) transitioned so that you wouldn’t face the pursecution that gay people do. You will hear things like, “Trans men are just lesbians with penis envy” and “Trans women think people won’t know they’re gay men in a dress.” They will assume you are straight (though with all the wrong language).

One time I said something about how girls are beautiful and this kid was like "Wait so if you like girls why'd you want to be transgender instead of a lesbian?" And I just kinda *facepalm* I mean he meant well but it just... yk
My mother said the same thing. “You can just be a masculine lesbian. No need to make yourself an even bigger target.” What a mindset!

I assume this is a thanks for the previous mods. Thank you on their behalf! I hope I can continue to help trans dudes as they did!

I'm a nonbinary trans guy (probably bi or pan) but when I feel attracted to girls I feel totally genderless, is this normal or just some internalized transphobia? I'm not sure what to label myself as anymore
You don’t need a label!

Hey :) so I would say that I identify as a nonbinary trans boy who is attracted to girls (and tbh questioning whether I could be bi? but not sure) - so currently I go about calling myself gay, but should I not be doing that any more? should I be calling myself straight instead? advice?
The best advice I can give to you is this - don’t fear the term questioning! The universe does not require you have another term in your pocket. If you’re not sure, you can just say you’re questioning, or just “definitely not straight”. Or queer. It’s not a slur.
However, if you identify as nonbinary, a trans boy, or both, you are not a gay women, right? Again, I advise you to go with the Qs.
Now, how about Liam's opinion of his uncle's?
