Death Threats

I am so angry right now, when did death threats become the default to go thing to do when you don’t like someone? when someone disagrees with you?  Death threats are never an appropriate response.

Someone I know in real life has been chased from her home and advised by police to stay out due to death threats.  She has been through a terrible tragedy and apparently an appropriate response from strangers is to send threats to her life, as if she hasn’t already been through enough.

I feel so angry I feel sick.

I really dislike the viners/youtubers whose brand of comedy is involving the general public without their consent.  I don’t find playing mean jokes on unsuspecting people trying to go about their business very funny.

It has literally never in the history of the world been easier to fact check something you read or hear about.  Don’t spread lies or misinformation.  A little bit of critical thinking goes a long way.

An addiction to outrage

The “Social Justice” that the vocal minority of tumblr likes to tout has nothing to do with social justice, or education, or helping anyone but themselves, instead they seem to actively hunt down any kind of problematic element to anything, be it a television show, a celebrity, no matter how minor an infraction or how long ago someone spoke out of place they leap on it like they have found a treasure.  The more they find, the further back in time they go to find something someone said the bigger the prize.

What does X-romantic actually mean?

When people describe themselves as aromantic or panromantic, what does the romantic part of it actually mean to them.  Like what is the difference between being attracted to someone and being romantically attracted to someone, because for me, they are the same thing.

I’ve worked retail on and off for since the 90s, and the best days at work are when we catch a shoplifter.

Everyone in the store comes and tries to sneak a peek at the fuckwit.

The best one was when I worked at an electronics retailer and some chump stole a TV then brought it back to claim a refund on it.  2 days before Christmas and he was crying like a baby because he was getting arrested.

I’ve noticed a lot of shoplifting stuff on the dashboard today, all of it condemning it, which is great.  Shoplifting is not a victimless crime, if you think otherwise you obviously have never worked retail (and the vast majority of lifting blogs seem to be jobless entitled middle class brats).

Shoplifting comes under shrink.  Shrink is a % of inventory that stores know will be damaged, stolen or lost, the lower the shrink (the less thefts) the higher the budget for hours, the more likely the staff are to get a bonus or a christmas party or recruit new staff.  Shoplifting directly affects retail workers - it doesn’t affect the higher ups, they get their money back through cutting hours, cutting bonuses.

If you really want a load of overpriced tat and makeup that badly, get a fucking job.

Or do what you usually do and ask mummy and daddy for it.

Tumblr is infected the Dunning–Kruger effect, the only treatment is a long course of going outdoors on a regular basis, talking to people who disagree with you and getting your news from actual news sites not social media.
