Haunted California Battlefield
One haunted place not on many of the lists is the Lava Beds in Northern California, Here in the 1870s there was a grim and terrible War that is known to history as the Modoc War. Native Americans of the Modoc Tribe left the reservation and when back to their traditional lands. The land was worthless and so the Modocs thought the US government would let them have it --but the War Department and the Indian affairs people would not let them get away with defying Washington. The Natives under Captain Jack, held out in a set of caves and held off the army. In a peace meeting that went bad, Captain Jack killed a US General! That just made things worse. After bring starved out the rebellious Modocs were forced back on a reservation and Captain Jack killed. The caves are now haunted. People hear chanting in them and see phantom warriors still guarding the Lava Beds. It is a strange place to visit. A Psychic team should go and investigate this site.
