Wow. Can I just take a moment to just say "wow".

From the snippet of audio I heard, I already love the beat. It sounds fresh, smooth and powerful. From the snippet of video I saw (with my eyes wide and jaw on the floor) BIGBANG's Panda maknae sure is pushing torching those boundaries--burning those suckers to the ground.

The thing that drew me to Seungri way-back Wednesday was, honestly, his Justin Timberlake/Robin Thicke-esque style--musically I mean. To me, Seungri is pop music at it's finest; a very clean (not in terms of content mind you), casual and provocative take. It's the type of music that lends itself to white suits, minimalistic MV concepts and sharp choreography.

Needless to say, the MV will probably get banned. It's already been slapped with a 19+ rating but I have a feeling all some of the more radically conservatives members of the MOGEF may just push for an outright ban, which isn't necessarily an unfair thing. I mean, the images in this video are anything but family-friendly.

One thing's for sure. YGE & Seungri's mission is accomplished. People are definitely talking about "love".

MOGEF bans four songs from Jay Park’s ‘New Breed’ album

Jay Park‘s first album, ‘New Breed‘, has had a handful of songs become banned under the latest decision of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. The MOGEF released a new report on May 24th revealing that a total of four songs off of the album were deemed unsuitable for teens. “New Breed“, “AOM & 1llionaire“, and “Wasted” were banned for the use of slang, while “Turn Off Your Phone” was banned for sexually suggestive content. Illinit‘s “Ill Bomb” and Dok2‘s “Leave Me Alone” also came under the same decision. The ban will take effect starting May 31st. Source + Photos: Star News via Naver

a rant by me

So I always see kpop fans on allkpop and youtube going on about how kpop is so much more conservative than western music and this makes it better. It is't oversexualised and they sing about more innocent concepts over drugs and sex (just some of the things I read). 

and when a kpop song comes out that doesn't fit THEIR idea of how kpop should be (visually and musically) you can bet they will make some noise, and it's usually very harsh.

ok, I'll agree, much of kpop is conservative, and that's nice, but if the "Ministry of Gender Equality and Family" decides to ban a song because of any reason they might find it 'unsuitable', the fans go crazy and get really upset over the protection of their beloved idols. This comes with the MOGEF banning four songs on Jay Park's new album, they were deemed 'unsuitable for teens' as the songs contained slang and sexually suggestive content.  

so to fans want kpop to stay cute and innocent all the time, then let MOGEF do their job and please be quite and keep your double standard views to yourselves. 

Personally, I don't agree with the MOGEF at all and I think kpop should have the same freedoms as the western music industry, music, lyrics and dancing are forms of art and shouldn't be regulated by a government body that determines what they see as appropriate.
