July Talk like at Mohawk College 01/18/17
Federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change was at Mohawk College Thursday
Mohawk College says its climate change venture with the cities of Hamilton and Burlington has suffered a blow after Doug Ford's government has decided to pull $2 million in funding.
The Centre for Climate Change Management and specifically the Bay area Climate Change Office is part of an effort to tackle climate change in Hamilton and Burlington. It was launched last year.
The college said Thursday that it will no longer be receiving the $2 million a year that the previous provincial government committed, now that the Ford government has killed the Liberal's climate change action plan.

You know what’s amazing? This, seeing that I’ve officially completed my program. So proud of myself.
I have good news
You may have noticed these last few days that I haven’t been as active as I usually am. I promise I have a good reason for this.
Tomorrow is my final day of college. And I mean final as in, I graduate in June. And what a journey it's been!
In 2010 I started university as a film studies major, worked hard through 4 years and one spring break trip to LA. On that break, I realized I wanted to be more hands on, more technical and actually make the films. I’d be lying if I said I’d graduated with great grades. My depression and anxiety was bad and I ended up just squeaking by.
This led to me intending to take a year off before going to college. I spent 6 months living in Toronto trying to get production assistant jobs in the industry and was told I couldn’t even be a coffee runner. I ended up working those months at a theme park and ended up hating my life and then applied to college.
I’m now on the dean’s list, my grades don’t go below 85 and I’m very happy.
So, tomorrow is my last class, Tuesday I premiere my superhero documentary, Superfan and then start my life. I’m 26 years old (next month) and am ready to finally get my life together.
Maybe, just maybe, you’ll see my name in the credits in the future.
In the meantime, I’ll be writing more, because I’ll have more time finally. Thanks to all of you who have been so soooo supportive and have kept me sane. I love you guys.
