Bill Baker, who’d been captain of the Minnesota varsity, was at once baffled and amused by him. And during intermission, in would breeze Strobel, unconcerned and reassuring: ‘Hey, guuyys, what’s the matter? We’re only down by threee.’ The nonchalance was genuine; three goals were nothing for Strobel.
