Harringrove Writers!!!

In the universe of fanfiction, we've seen so many tropes, whatever the fandom. One that pops up sometimes is amnesia, Character A gets hurt and when they wake up they can't remember the amazing or budding relationship they have with Character B... angst ensues until finally they remember, the end.

On a two hour drive out of town the other day and listening to my personal HARRINGROVE Spotify playlist, a thought pops in my head. I'm an okay writer but there are just some things I can't do justice.

AnyHOON... Story idea... What if in the time that Billy was always picking fights with Steve and the drama and heartache of Season 3, Billy would secretly let his imagination run wild sometimes and be imagining himself with Steve and not just sexual situations but romantic ones. Here he is thinking those things and gating himself and he'd be more cruel. Billy is not the American in the prison in Russia. He's in a hospital/lab being studied... but he has amnesia after the Mind Flayer left his body. It just fucked up his psyche and he pushed all of that down too far. But when he woke, his mind was so rattled, that his old fantasies about Steve he thought were real. So when the doctors keep trying to get Upside Down info from him, he has no fucking clue what they are talking about he just keeps asking for Steve. Billy is so obstinate. The lab people realize they need to let the cat out of the bag and tell The Party Billy is alive to bring in Steve. (((I guess the lab "kept his body" for whatever reason))) And even though Steve has no idea why Billy Hargrove would want to see him... well our precious Steve is too sweet to not help anyone, even the asshole that beat the shit out of him once. Once he realizes that Billy thinks they are together Steve freaks. The lab people say they need Steve to play along so they can get the information they believe Billy must have but Steve won't budge... until Max begs... because her brother is back and they have another chance and this could mean him getting his memory back then they could potentially let him leave. Steve caves, it's one of his kids crying, what can he do? Cue... Steve eventually falling in love with Billy of course even though he doesn't have the same 'memories' as Billy, while also trying to jog Billy's memory without pulling out the angry old Billy. (((I guess Billy may no remember his physical fight with Steve. And may have chopped his Season 2 interaction with Steve as flirting because... well... he was. Just in his way.))) They end up together eventually, with Billy coming back and struggling with the situation as humiliated and it not being easy to believe that Steve loves him. Happy Ending though.

Please... Someone write this. 🙏
