A great second day to our #Scotland tour. After leaving Inverness we reached #blackrockgorge near #evanton Here a stream has cut down as isostatic rebound up lifted the Devonian Old Red Sandstone. We journeyed on to #Lairg visiting the #ferrycroft visitor centre to learn all about the #Lairgmeteorite Then we reached the @northwesthighlandsgeopark and visited the iconic #knockancrag to learn about the world's first identified #thrustfault the #moinethrust After more outcrop stops we arrived at the #NorthWestHighlands #Geopark visitor centre. We ended the day seeing the UK's oldest rocks at #Scourie and it's famous #dykes followed by the #multicolouredrockstop near #laxfordbridge A great day! (at Rhiconich, Highland, United Kingdom)

Great 2nd day on our 'Scotland - The Birth of Geology' trip. We started with the Black Rock Gorge, Eventon before reaching #Lairg to learn about the #meteorite impact. It was then to the #NorthWestHighlands #Geopark. We visited #KnockanCrag and the #MoineThrust the world's first identified thrust fault. We saw Cambrian fucoid beds, pipe rock and limestone. After Ardvick Castle was saw the #Glencoul Thrust followed by the Laxford multi-coloured rock stop. (at Kinlochbervie)
