[ 𝟟 ] —- - All Wolf wanted to do was have a nice day off at the strip. Drink Whiskey. Get drunk. Screw a couple of hot guys. Puke on a stranger’s shoes. Maybe partake in a little gambling. Pass out. Repeat the process all over again.
And yet, here he was, digging up a shallow grave. Too compassionate, his mama said. He was always too d*mn compassionate for other people. His friends always told him it was a good thing, but lately he found himself viewing it as more of a curse than a blessing.
He wiped his forehead once he finally got rid of the last of the dirt and wiped his forehead. Then, he clasped the outstretched hand in front of him, pulling the near-dead stranger up and out of the ground.
〝I gotcha, friend. I gotcha.〞

Vulpes waited in place under the watchful, uncanny focus of the securitrons that shared his room. They’d sat him down here without so much as an explanation - why they’d taken him here or what he was waiting for - and he found himself lacking the energy to ask. For the first time in what felt like a year, he was free from his old cell. He’d left Camp McCarran, and that routine suffering seemed to be behind him now.
He could feel his own spine pressed hard against the back of the chair. His shirt was thin - everything about him was thin these days - and the metal behind it felt cold.
A door next to the securitrons opened, and in stepped the one person he hadn’t believed he would see. He hadn’t let himself believe it, but now it all made sense. The legendary courier had taken control of New Vegas, and had driven the NCR west. He was finally free of NCR captivity - on this man’s decision.
Vulpes inclined his head in what he hoped appeared a confident greeting. He didn’t have the strength left for much else.
Captain Amari held a look of utter resignation as she continued to read the file in her front of her. She looked over the top of it to give the man who sat before her a quick glance. From what she understood, he has so much potential, but lacks the discrepancy for Blackwatch, and Overwatch for that matter. She sighed and turned off the device, “I don’t know what to tell you... Assaulting a fellow teammate? That’s not tolerated here, I don’t know where you were picked up from and I don’t really care about it either. But what I do care about is your actions now, and they aren’t making you look good in the eyes of your superior officers.”
She folded her arms in front of her and leaned back in her chair. How was she going to deal with this? She wasn’t about to let him off with a warning... Perhaps... “What I can tell you, however, is that you should be grateful I’m not as hard as Commander Morrison is,” she couldn’t help the small smile at her lips at her little bluff. If Jack heard her say that he would laugh. “You’ll get another chance, however, this chance means that you can only train with me for three months.”

[ 𝕊 ] —- - David bent over the bed where the now formerly injured man lied, and reached for one of his shoulders. His fingers curled around the worn, brown coat and he shook the stranger gently; an attempt to wake him from what seemed to be a troublesome sleep.
It concerned David to see him in such a state, and he spoke up in addition to giving the man a shake.
〝Hey, Kid, wake up.〞
